The only good thing about this hotel was I had free Wi-Fi in my room (Normally £5ph or £10 24hrs if you want internet in your room)With my room being close to the public access. Don't stay here if you want a good quiet nights sleep. Noise from drunken students, roundabouts and hotel doors slamming. The window in my room would not shut properly either, I made a request for someone to fix it at 6pm at 10pm nobody had even been up which made for a very cold & noisy room :( If you require hotel parking it is a knightmare to even find away into the carpark only to find there are little to no spaces whats so ever v Poor! Another downside was in my room there were 3 Teabags and 4 Coffee sachets with only 2 sugars it obviously not been topped up from the previous stay. Overall stars out out 5....2 1/2

The entrance was very inviting, taking in the bar restaurant which looked inviting. However, please see below. We were extremely disappointed at the very poor service for breakfast. The hotel was clearly under staffed. Only one servery was open, We had to ask for spoons, plates, sauces, the coissants were in short supply and my husband was unable to have one. We queued for 45 minutes to get to the servery and then had to wait further as one by one the eggs, bacon, sausages etc. gradually arrived. We were thrilled with the hotel prior to this, but the breakfast situation totally spoilt our stay.

Excellenrt rooms for value. Car parking. The carpark is under the hotel but is not owned by the hotel. I had to wait 1.5 hours to get into it in spite of the fact that there were at least 10 spaces available.

stylish, clean There are a couple of things which wasn't to great (1) the tempreture of the water in the bath/shower wasn't as hot as we would of liked, l can understand health and safety side of it...! (2) The reception didn't answer the phone from our room as I was trying to get them to call for a Taxi for a certain time, so we could have a few drinks at your bar before we left.(3) Parking? well that was a long walk away! good job it wasn't raining otherwise I would of got soaked. that needs to be looked at!!

The hotel staff were courtious and polite when we experienced problems with the room's heating. The hotel room was extremely cold on arrival.Sounds simple but there were no instructions on how to operate the heating. Took nearly 2 hours for room to become a comfortable temperature. Staff provided extra blankets. Also TV wasn't tuned in properly. Shower didn't function properly. It was either a hot/warm trickle or icy cold power blast.

The room was spacious and the bathroom was well lit - and well set out; the staff were friendly, mostly English speaking and able to communicate with a standard of friendliness and humour far in excess of London's moronic and rude levels of acceptability. This is why I escape to such places. No answer during mid evening when ringing dow to ask about check out time. I went down and found them all busy with incoming customers - which is fair enough I guess.

Location of hotel was perfect for guests boarding ships at Southampton Docks. Bedrooms had depressing decor and were very basic. Limited choice breakfasts were charged at £8.50. Insufficient staff resulted in poor service both at the reception desk and in the bar/restaurant.

Very comfortable beds - room very quiet - functional clean and pleasant We expected to have discounted price in the car park situated below the hotel. Although the car park ticket was handed to the receptionist for validation when we left, in the car park we were charged the full rate of £30 for our two night stay instead of the advertised £6 per night. This made our stay considerably more expensive and we would not have chosen this hotel if we had known about the additional cost. We would not recommend this hotel for this reason alone.

Internet access £5 per hour, frankly that's quite disgusting when the mobile 3G for my iPad is £15 per month. Car park didn't feel safe/secure, though good value at £6 per 24 hours

Car Park facilities, though a bit difficult at first to find, made life so much easier. The room was comfortable, though I felt that a non slip mat for the bath should have been provided as most people use the shower and step in/out of a wet bath could be hazardous. The water pipes were very noisy at 04:30hrs, woke me up. The wi-fi should be free, even small pubs round our area supply free wi-fi. The air-con should be set to off by default. There is too much advertising literature in the room, and what's the point of a Bible? It just takes up valuable draw space. There is not enough coffee and milk supplied for the room. There was some building work around the bar which was a little off putting. I was abandoned in the restaurant, a young lady showed me to a seat and said she would be back, she then knocked off her shift and no-one came to ask me for my order until I enquired 20 minutes later. What were in the two bottles in the bathroom attached to the wall, a lable would have helped as all will have trouble as most people don't wear their glasses in the shower.

Too much noise from neighbouring rooms and on the corridor throughout the evening. The car park situation was not favourable as we had to use a car park close to the city centre as the hotel car park was full. The room we booked stated we had a double bed and a sofa bed - there was no sofa bed in the room and the double bed must have been the smallest double bed in the hotel.

“My partner had stayed at the hotel last year and really enjoyed the friendliness of the staff, especially Paul on the reception desk, the cleanliness and comfort of the room and the excellent breakfast and a very relaxed atmosphere. Close to all amenities and good restaurants for the evening. We were visiting family this year and will definitely be booking for next year probably March. Thank you for making our stay with you so memorable.” Linda, Mariou Crete |
