Good comfortable room. Friendly atmosphere in the hotel.

Restaurant staff seemed a bit overwhelmed at breakfast. Tables not being cleared, coffee machines not working, just not quite on top of the busy serving.

Everything ok, the room was fine and price was ... ok, but actually one of the cheapest in town for that day, so better than ok. They have let us leave a baggage for the day after check out and come pick it up in the evening. I have also enjoyed a massive portion of Nachos from the bar downstairs.

I really like to enjoy a bath when out in hotels that provide it, and theirs was short. But it's really a detail!

Position was good for exploring city on foot through the park.

Shower did not work - offered alternative room but were too busy to comply. Reimburse in part through car park fee. Good receiptionist. Lighting in room somewhat dim for reading etc.

For the purposes of my business trip the location is ideal.

The room account process seems to have changed since my last stay there. On check-in the accommodation charges for my entire 4 day stay were charged to my card and the account closed. Consequently when I went for dinner I was unable to charge it to my room, I had to go back to reception to give them my card details again to reopen the account. On day 2 I was told the account had again been closed, although this time the hotel reopened it without me having to go to reception.

Draughty Cold Restaurant Waiting 50 minutes for main course. Main course for wife was cold. Waiting 20 minutes for Desert ... warm fudge cake was dry

Excellent customer service. As I arrived I had a 1 minute wait and the gentlemen at the counter apologized like I had waited an outrageous amount of time.

I received a phone call from the reception as I pushed a button thinking it was a light switch in the dark. Turned out to be a reset switch which I found weird.

Breakfast was ok but after that, not a lot!!

My room was painted in a depressive suicide mustard colour, and no room service at all. I will not stay here again.

Poorly trained and not enough bar staff

I was travelling with my two teen+ children and needed a well priced triple room for 1 night. This fitted the bill exactly - the room was basic but large and had a double, small double and single bed (bit better than a "put you up" and was fine for our one night). Staff were very professional and helpful, particularly the night staff.

Main reception areas were as expected of a hotel chain to a good standard. The only negative was the music in the bar competing with the American football / professional poker on TV - creating a wall of sound and not a very relaxing atmosphere. The room was clean and comfortable but getting slightly jaded. The hotel is served by an underground public car park. A little quiet at night.

The foreign blond lady at the fron desk...well she leaves much to be desired when it comes to hospitality and making one feel welcome.....unless it was to the prison! The rooms were less than basic for all the hype about the hotel....typically only worhy of 2 star rating for the rooms!! The hotel should visit the Premier Inn and get afew ideas on decor!

Nothing stands out

Beds - too small - one of us had to sleep on the sofa bed kettle in room did not work staff - impolite and unresponsive - had to ask twice for sheets in the room. Even then did not supply additional duvet as requested car parking - difficult to get to & overpriced food - average for the money bar - overpriced security - marijuana smoked on our floor permeated the room and meant we had to open the window despite the fact that the weather was cold bathroom fan ineffective

rooms where clean and well maintained food was excellent, the service was of a high standard, I would not wish to stay anywhere else when in southampton on business

Excellent hotel for which we paid £60 a night for a triple room. In our experience - given the quality of the hotel we would normally expect to pay double. Although it is on a main road it is triple glazed and totally sound-proofed. Had a very quiet stay.

Location was excellent. The breakfast was very good we had stayed at a holiday inn last time we came to Southampton and was disappointed with the breakfast and we like a good start to the day

The bed was uncomfortable and the pillows hurt my neck u had a pillow of the settee the second nite which wasn't much better so I didn't hav a good sleep either nite. Parking what a performance cost us quite a lot as we as visiting my daughter in Eastleigh so we was in and out and as it was less than four hours we had to pay, but the second nite we couldn't park in the secure it was full although it wasn't and we checked late at nite as we had been out and still there was loads of spaces but we wasn't allowed to park there and the car means a lot to my husband and he was anxious about it not being securely parked and more costs incurred which wen we had been at the holiday inn. And premier inns in the past we had nit paid any extra at all

How helpful the staff were; lovely breakfast; quiet comfortable room.
