no cafetiere at breakfast - needed to ask for a top-up of coffee. No one asked if we would like more toast ! Needs double glazzed windows to keep the noise of traffic and trains out !!

The staff at Kemps were wonderful. I was poorly on one night of our stay there and they went out of their way to do whatever they could for me. Nothing was too much trouble over the 3 nights we were there. We were called to ask if we wanted breakfast on Monday morning incase we had forgotten the change in time from weekend to weekdays. Agnes was wonderful!!!! All members of the team were helpful and friendly - cannot rate them highly enough :)

I personally think that reception should be covered for a longer period. We had run out of toilet paper and there was nobody around to ask for some more until reception reopened at 3pm (closed from 11am I think). They provide an emergency contact number but didn't want to bother them as it wasn't an emergency as such. Would be nice just to have one person in the building for silly things like that.

We liked everything about the place everything was just perfect!

We think the price was a bit steep for a 2 night stay as we looked at other hotels after our visit an we could of for them for half the price that we payed to stay their, we would come again if the price wasn't so expensive!

We stayed for our wedding night after getting married at Lulworth Castle nearby. The staff here couldn't have been more friendly/helpful to accommodate our single night stay, late night arrival, 6 week old baby and request for room service in the morning despite the info folder stating they did not usually do this. Would have liked to have stayed a little longer! Xx

Nice big room, comfortable bed

Breakfast. When I stay in a hotel I expect the breakfast to be good quality and ideally produced from quality, locally sourced products. The sausage appeared to be from the Lidl value range, the mushrooms were tinned and my husband's scrambled eggs resembled quick drying cement. The room was heated by an electric air conditioning unit, which because of the noise could not be left on overnight so the room was cold in the morning. Overall I was expecting a good quality country house hotel and I was rather disappointed and feel it was poor value for money

The hotel was clean, the furniture and bed comfortable and the breakfast good.

All the staff were very friendly and willing to go the extra mile for you, they made us feel very welcome.

The food in the Hotel Restaurant was amazing. The Hotel staff were attentive and efficient without being intrusive. The Hotel was clean and tidy. The Hotel was simply and tastefully decorated without any sign of being pretentious.

Very well kept hotel. The rooms are very big (5x8 metres) and arranged motel-style with separate entrances from outside (though the upstairs row presumably had smaller rooms). Everything was spotless and in perfect repair. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is aiming for a gourmet touch; prices were slightly higher than average, but the quality of the food was good.

With a gourmet style menu for adults on offer, one would wish that the children's menu could be improved a little, in particular with fresh fruit and veg, e.g. chopped raw veg and houmous dip.

The team at Kemps give you a friendly welcome and ensure you're well looked after throughout your stay. Very clean, comfortable rooms too.

Excellent food, the staff were always pleasant and accommodating. Everything was clean, and attention to detail couldn't be faulted.

Little bit disappointed that the menu was the same on both nights. Although there was a variety of starters, mains and desserts....enough not to repeat the same meal twice, over 3 or 4 days. Also: the tap over the bathroom basin was in the centre, small basin and central tap made it a bit difficult to rinse face after shaving.

Excellent young lady put herself out to accommodate me by providing a breakfast in a basket for my early departure.

This is an absolute gem and Dorset's best kept secret in my opinion. Very affordable at £75 per night for a huge double with queen sized bed. I cannot fault it in any way at all. It was clean, spacious, plenty of parkng, fantastic food and dining. It felt like a very upmarket hotel with a 4* plus feel. Highly recommended and I look forward to my return visit every month.

Nice informal homely ambience with very friendly service and easy access to all amenities. An ideal place for a quiet break on the south coast.

Very little not to like. Closet space in the room was a bit cramped but otherwise very little to complain about.

Attention to detail was excellent - e.g. space for toiletries in the bathroom and shower and plenty of room to relax in the bedroom. Every possible requirement was catered for.
