Location and stunning scenary. Staff friendly, pleasant dining room.

In need of refurbishment, rooms and communal areas looking rather scruffy. Outside area to the right is a bit of a mess.

Very large, clean bathroom and bedroom.

Stairs going up to room needed decorating and new carpet. Breakfast was disappointing as there was little choice.

The areas of the hotel that have been upgraded are very good. Beautiful views overlooking the river & comfortable area in the dining room. Bed was clean and comfortable, towels good quality. Liked the traditional feel to the bar areas with exposed stonework & historical links.

Rooms & corridors are in need of upgrading. Wallpaper & paintwork look tired & dated. Shower was adequate but lacked power, making slow work of hair washing! Service in the dining room was good when it was quiet, however staff seemed to lack clear procedures when under pressure at busy times.

The location and its tranquility. I had a friend from Cape Town with me and he enjoyed it immensely.

The bedrooms are in need of a complete overhaul. Everyhting looks very tired.

    Location. Staff Comfortable bed

No in-room information re facilities, etc Very basic toiletries provided Poor selection on breakfast buffet - rubbery toast, scrambled eggs only, 2 yoghurt pots , no menu. Poor value for £155 B&B rate. Decor in bathroom tired and electric shower inefficient

Excellent, well trained and very friendly staff. A stunning setting by the Tay. Great view from the very large restaurant.

Ours was a remarkably disappointing and very poor value-for-money stay. We could not recommend this hotel until it improves. Our room was in the annexe, across the main road. We found it shabby. It had two televisions, neither of which worked. There was no in-room welcome pack or hotel information/advice. We found no drinking glasses or complimentary bottled water, which is now the norm. The tea and coffee selection was sparse and not up to the standard we have come to expect for £144 per night, B&B for two. The bathroom was extraordinarily poor, dilapidated and grubby. The cushion floor was dirty, the toilet made a very loud water-hammer noise every time it was flushed and the low wattage electric shower only offered a very fine spray. There was no bathroom shelf, only the original holes for it remain. The selection of toiletries was poor, and no pamper pack was offered. The hair drier, whose testing label was 4 years out of date, smelled of burning plastic during use. The hotel promised WIFI, but it is only available at one end of one public room and the exceptionally poor service was prone to dropping out. All visitors, while we were there, found this quite upsetting. The evening menu in the bar was the same as in the restaurant. The food offering was poor. One of our main courses was inedible - the bar manager agreed and replaced it but we then had to eat separately. He refunded the cost of that poor meal. The hotel seems to be geared up to cater for coach loads of tourists and not for individual travellers. Most of these comments were made to the receptionist at the time of our check out. She was already aware of these problems. She did apologise.

No Pusser's rum in the bar. Wifi needs to be improved.

    Beautiful location.

Incorrect rooming, rude staff when questioned - begrudgingly offered a different room later. Quality of room not as advertised.

The hotel was lovely and comfortable, the breakfast was plentiful and the hot food constantly refreshed. We also has lunch on our arrival and the bar menu was excellent - cullen skink to die for, the barman was really friendly and helpful. The receptionists were also very friendly and helpful.

Bedroom was too hot - however we turned down the radiator and opened a window so not a hardship or a big moan.

Excellent friendly service Genuine kindness Everything else The stunning setting and the laid back atmosphere is all here The open fires are very welcoming The micro climate is very pleasant The history The ducks I think The Kenmore will always be on to a good thing! Great breakfasts Food very good in general!

Scrimping on toiletries Prices in general Expensive! Long wait for dinner You will not be lucky if there is a large group booking in one of the function rooms ie we were told we could not order dinner between 8 and 9 pm!!!

A lovely place to stay; warm and friendly with a beautiful large bedroom and really helpful attentive staff at reception and in the dining room. I can't imagine a more stunning setting than the river view from the dining room.

I loved the location and the fact that it was dog friendly. We had dinner at the hotel which was absolutely delicious.

I was a wee bit disappointed in the buffet breakfast, I was expecting a menu with smoked salmon etc.

The lovely staff, the delicious food - especially on Hogmanay, the ceilidh and the whole atmosphere

The water in our room [Rm. 1] took almost 10 minutes to run hot , which seems such a waste of water and energy. [' tho I do know we have had more than enough rain not to worry about that!]
