convenient location: walking distance of Waverley Station and the Castle, excellent breakfast, security safe in room, good price considering the festival was just starting.
a wider double bed would have been nice
Location, very clean! Outstanding breakfast with fresh fruit and great choice. Would recommend for overnight stay!
Basic bathroom/wet room !
Everything in walking distance, freshly prepared breakfast, friendly staff
Mattress was too soft for my liking
Very good breakfast, soya milk, fresh fruit, very helpful staff.
The well designed room. The good breakfast and service, THE RECEPTION WAS PLEASANT AND EFFICIENT, The situation of the acco mmodation wasgood once we got our bearings. The taxi ordering service was vert efficient,
We are no longer in the first flush of youth so the third floor was quite daunting with luggage.
location, excellent breakfast,clean and secure.
Being able to walk to the Queen's Hall and Festival Theatre. Only one or two buses to reach Usher Hall. Ample choice at breakfast and very attentive staff there and at registration
Dangerous pavement in need of repair outside front of Kenneth Mackenzie, but not your responsibility, I think.
We could not fault anything the room, the breakfast, everything was absolutely fabulous, considering we booked it 3 days before arriving we had a fantastic room
Staff were very helpful. Booked a taxis when I needed it. Looked things on the internet for me. Breakfast was good with a wide variety of food available for all tastes. Was free WI in rooms. Comfortable clean room.
Was a bit hot in room.
Great breakfasts. Clean central safe accommodation. So close to all the Fringe events but quiet. Basic rooms but comfortable.
Would love to have had a fridge! I was there for a week so would have been handy.
Great breakfast, nice staff, good location.
This is not a hotel - it appears to be student accomodation. Room small and cramped and so hot and stuffy. Taps dripped constantly. Could not sleep due to all that and the sound of snoring through the wafer-thin walls. Way too expensive - I've stayed in 4* hotels in places like Honolulu for this price. Recommend you find somewhere else.
Excellent breakfast, comfortable room, very friendly staff and great location.
good breakfast friendly staff arran shower gel good location
The room is ok. The breakfast must be one of the best in town. It's excelent.
The shower room is a bit small but adequate. We could have a choice of milk not just full fat but that is only a minor point.
15 minutes' walk to the Castle as well as to the railway station, pretty quiet.
Breakfast was great with a lot of choice
Provides reasonably easy walking access to the main tourist attractions on the Royal Mile and Princes Street
Bathroom had a bad smell
Helpful staff, location, breakfast
Bed much too soft, unusually so for hotel. Sore back. Shower very high up & low pressure, hard for short person to wash well. Could be fixed with a shower that comes off wall.
Clean, building has character
Having to carry bags up 3 flights of stairs. Workman noise
No lift to third floor.
Used this hotel for a one night visit prior to catching a plane. It was conveniently located and reasonably priced. The staff was very helpful. Its a minimalist hotel best for a single traveler.
Not ideal for families. Best for a single traveler not expecting a high level of luxury.
No toilet at the reception when checking out Air Con not functioning Inadequate power sockets/points Floors have no elevators so difficult to bring up luggage bags
simplicity, i looked for a small and clean room to sleep in, and that's exactly what i got - i was not going to spend too much time indoors anyway. the tea (bags) offered in the room were great :) nice breakfast
everything was fine. travellers expecting luxury will probably look otherwise, this is honest british (scottish :) hospitality at its best
