Friendly Staff, good location next to the musuem within walking distance, clean rooms at a reasonable price for London hotels. Breakfast was very good with a large choice.
The bed was comfortable and the tv worked well, rooms were a decent size and had tea and coffee making facilities. It was in a great location round the corner from a big sainsburys and Gloucester road tube station and the staff were friendly enough didn't have many issues. Room was clean that's my biggest worry normally but all linen and towels were very clean.
The bathrooms are a bit outdated and could do with a makeover a few cracks in tiles and our shower head didn't like to stay in one place over the bath. The view was a bit poor, plastic bags full of something on the roof outside, and we had to keep the window open because the rooms were quite hot and had a bit of a damp smell on first entry.
The dirt everywhere in the hotel, the hotel is not clean and should basically not be open for clients...the photos on Booking.com does not match what is really happening on the ground....
When we arrived we were told there was maintenance work being carried out on our room a d they had found us an alternative hotel - across the other side of London. Alternative hotel was in a rough area and the room was a box. Nothing like the standard we expected from hotel originally booked. Very disappointed with this and had a knock on affect for the rest of the weekend as the new location meant we missed a tour and made us late for reservations.
We were in a family room placed at the very front of the hotel on the main road. Had broken blinds up the window with no curtains letting in all the street lights. This combined none of the group got any sleep all night. Tv didn't work & one of the beds was a camp bed. Furnishings was disgraceful aswell. We were not happy with stay at all!!
On arrival we were told our room was no longer available, and we would have to stay in their sister hotel in Battersea... we were due at the Albert Hall in an hour (walking distance from the hotel but nowhere near Battersea)... the Kensington Rooms may be lovely, we have no idea.
Very nice breakfaststaff and cleaningstaff!
Breakfaststaff and cleaningstaff are nicer than the deskstaff! ,-)
No hairdryer A lot of noise at night
I dont like the Stuff special one receptionist called kazim
Location is excellent
Aside from location, very basic hotel and over priced for what was on offer.
- the free wifi - the location - the beds were comfy
- the unopenable window in a room which was absolutely boiling - the rodent catching boxes around the room - the lack of light and extractor in the bathroom - the unusable tv due to no batteries in the remote, which when brought to the attention of the reception staff was responded with 'come back tomorrow and we'll give you some', very helpful for a one night stay! They did however say they'd send someone round the hotel to find some and deliver them to the room...but that never happened - the broken window blind, which looked out onto the air condioning unit for the building, annoyingly placed outside of the room which had no air con! - the maze of corridors to travel along to get to the room which no direction from the hopeless reception staff on check-in
The hotel was ideally situated for the Gloucester Road tube station, the room was plenty big enough and the breakfasts were good. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Friendly stuff. Big, nice room, with big bathroom. We order room for 4 persons. Location is close to underground. Noise from street was normal. We had really nice time. Breakfast normal. Ask for room No.100
Some small details, but as time is taking its place and behaving of some naughty guests .
service rooms evrything in general
Very impressed with one particularly helpful staff at the front desk called Kazim. A shining star of customer service.
Other staff were friendly but could do more to ensure customer satisfaction, especially in allocation of rooms. Also, the hotel could do well with some fitness equipment, for which they have space in basement.
Bathroom Overall Decor Noise
The photographs of the hotel. Continental brecky was OK.
There was a smell of smoke in the room....it was not possible to ring reception to report this no information as to what the reception number was...0 didn't work neither did several unlucky guesses. No information in the room at all...they also provided one teabag each and we had to ask for more. If money isn't a problem spend more, this actually was the cheapest deal at the time. The staff were pleasant enough
Hygiene was ok
Service: they forgot wake up call Rooms: noisy , small bed: old and small
- Bathroom was hopeless, it is like when you are using WC, your face is in washbasin - Bed was uneven - No Ventilation, suffocating - Phone was on head board - Reception was not ready to give Wifi password over phone, insisted to come down all the way
Apart from location there is nothing good about this place. They have one star for been located in London, a second one for location, Chelsea, and the third one might be for the old times when they open.
According to booking.com this hotel was 50% offer. Total rip off. The place is falling apart, is hasn't been updated, in decades. Phone didn't work, internet work sometimes, the lamps fixtures didn't work, TV didn't work, bath tube took half an hour to drain after shower, the bed is extremely uncomfortable, and worst is, when you complain the personal, ask "are you sure?". The worst experience I ever had. The photos make it look like a normal place, is not. The corridors are very small, barely can walk pass with luggage, and is very smelly. According to booking.com this hotel was 50% off, you people need to check what you are offering, lost trust in the site after this experience. I book a 5 star hotel for the weekend in Knightsbridge, London for £125 a night (£25 less a night) with last minute booking. There are other sites with real offers, booking.com is not checking what they offer.
close to tube, bars, cafes, easy access to cventral london
room and shower-room extremely small, double bed placed against the wall so uncomfortable for two, no chairs, balcony filthy, in need of re-decoration
location was good, strong wifi and very comfy bed
the bathroom was dirty, the tiles in the shower could do with a scrub. The reception staff were really unorganised
Location Some friendly and helpful staff Shower was good
Items were not available that were advertised with the room. WiFi was poor and wouldnt stay connected. There was rubbish under the pull down bed. The room looked nothing like the ones advertised on the website. There was no main light in the room lamps only
dirty and only one room available, even we have book two
