We enjoyed our stay at Thistle. Our party included myself and my two adult daughters. We stayed in a triple room which was neat, clean and roomy. We really liked the large bathroom and the fantastic shower! It was perfect for us, near the Tube station and the little gas station/store right nearby was perfect for those snacks, drinks, etc we may need. We enjoyed the nearby restaurants and the Starbuck. This hotel was perfect for our needs out early for sightseeing, in late and a comfortable bed to relax.

Lovely hotel as describe in other peoples reviews. The refurb is beautiful from the bedrooms, bathroom, reception, dining room and lounge area. The room was spotless. The bathroom luxurious. Although we did not eat in at the hotel, we did have a drink one night in the lounge. I must say, it was very nice. I also thought it was good that we had to use a key in the lift to get up to the main reception and our room. This stopped anyone not staying at the hotel coming in. We recommend the White Swan pub just further down the road. Very good meals and some nights had live entertainment. It was about 15mins walk to Oxford Street and directly across the road to Kensington Gardens. We arrived at Kings Cross Station and caught the 390 bus just further up the road costing £2.20 each. It dropped us off directly across the road from the hotel on Bayswater Road. We did the same when we were going home. Very handy and stopped us getting lost on the underground or paying pounds for a taxi. Would stay at this hotel again.

Location is good enough, close to Queensway and Bayswater tube stations. The price was resonable after discount. Supermarket and breakfast cafe locates in walking distance. Very small room (usual for London), hotel staff usually was friendly, but not always helpful. Room microclimat was difficult to regulate (either too cold or too hot).

I liked the proximity to the underground, Marylebone. I enjoyed the view. I'd recommend this hotel based on that reason. Exquisite. The breakfast was delicious, having the chef there to serve you was a welcomed change. I didn't like the size of the elevators and low hallway ceilings, my partner is a very tall man who had to duck when walking to our room. Other than that, it was a wonderful hotel and a perfect few days.

This is an excellent hotel located at a fantastic place just across Hyde park and amenities. Queensway station is a two minute walk. When you do check in please only deal with Mr. Allal and Mr. irfan, they will both give you excellent service, other than these two the staff was just average. The Gentleman at the concierge was very helpful and courteous. Standard rooms are very small but clean and modern. Deluxe rooms are better with excellent views of the park.

The staff was very nice and helpful. The hotel is very well situated, across the street from Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. It is less than 5 minutes to Oxfordstreet with bus, that stops outside the hotel, or about 15 minutes walk. The hotel was clean and fresh. Honestly I did not expect it with London hotel standard in mind.

The hospitality was second to none. When we arrived we were upgraded to a deluxe room at no extra charge. It was my son's 15th Birthday and they bought a cake from Sainsbury's and delivered it to the room, with a birthday card. The location of the ideal is ideal as well. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone who was looking for a hotel in London.

Location is very good. very near underground. quiet hotel and friendly staff. Entrance to hotel is off a side street, and there is a petrol station in front of the hotel. reception is on first floor so you have to take lift to reception.

The location which was very convenient. Hotel newly renovated, but nothing special. Internet access was an issue since they were using BTOpenzone which required a UK credit card. This caused great deal of inconvenience.

The rooms were comfy and clean and just right for our two night stay. The porter at the entrance each day was more than helpful a credit to his job and the hotel. The location was great right next to two underground stops. We would recommend a stay here as Hyde Park was a nice option being as it was just adjacent to the hotel

Clean and comfortable, good location, friendly staff, good bathroom and shower facilities. Room size: small, but considering the price, it's fare, at least enough for a couple. No free WiFi anywhere in the hotel, it costs £10 one day.

Excellent, helpful reception staff Doors banging through the night....think our room was next to a cleaning/storage room which was used till the early hours of the morning! Didnt spoil our stay but would have been nicer to have a more 'sound proof' room!

It is newly refurbished, which makes it worth the money spent. Staff are polite and professional despite being overworked. Views from 4th floor overlooking Hyde Park were great. The view we had of the NYE fireworks was tremendous...a direct unobstructed view!! The rooms have decent beds and updated bathrooms that you would expect and have excellent soundproofing from the street as well as good black out curtains. Solid 4 star Hotel and very good price value overall. Would not recommend for a romantic weekend as it lacks any real 'wow' factor. It would be unfair to comment, as it was great value for money.

Very nice rooms, clean, warm and looked new. Nice bathroom. The elevator works only with key cards so not everybody can go up to your room. Hyde park view from one of the rooms. The receptionists should learn to do their work better, and be more helpful when been asked to resolve a problem. Other than that nothing bad.

“The Mornington included a breakfast in the price of the room. The breakfast was very nice indeed and really set us up for the day. If we had been paying for a breakfast separately I'm sure it would have been £10 or £15 each per day. Also the hotel was situated very close to the Lancaster Gate tube station and we were also able to walk across Hyde Park to get to Harrods etc.” Jeff, Newtownards |
