Staff are good and friendly, bathrooms are a good size. On this occasion my wifi was good but experience tells me it can variable depending on your proximity to the hub thingy!
The food isn't great, the door noise is instrusive, the rooms are dated and the TV channels are all over the place!
Convenient location and friendly staff. Bath and a shower. Separate breakfast cost...good if you don't have time to enjoy. Had a refuted room a few weeks ago...so much nicer, so looking forward to the continued refurb.
Bed and duvet cover in a printed terracotta colour not great.(most hotels now use white for cleanliness) also fairly uncomfortable. The tv is outdated small and channels don't correspond with the nos also sound level of tv is limited.
Location, price and lovely receptionists.
Poor wifi and tempermental TV.
Staff were helpful and pleasant
Room very tired and bed linen felt cold and used. room was cold despite radiator being on high. it was like a hostel rather than a hotel. it was so difficult to find - I drove around in circles. Sat nav would not recoginize postcode. I phoned hotel and they gave me a different one which got me closer and then I asked a gentleman who was in the area and he directed me. although it was ok I do not think it was worth the £70 charged for just the room. kettle did not work very well nor remote for the TV. it was a training centre which did accommodation rather than a hotel. I had not realised this when I booked. the bed linen was the worse defect. the colouring probably made it feel dirty. Better to have white or cream.
First, i phoned reception from my room to complain about the sheets. Reception were friendly, apologised and sent a chamber maid straight away to change them. I still wasn't happy with the bed linen, as it did not seem freshly laundered.I took photos and reported the problems to reception face-to-face. Whilst talking to the receptionist, the head of housekeeping interupted and was very very rude to me, saying that there was "nothing wrong with the room" The receptionist (rightly so) took charge and offered me a re-furbed room without question. This room was fresh, clean and comfortable, but the heating a WiFi issues remained
The heating is controlled centrally, so you have no control when it is on/off. If you get cold you have to ask for an additional heater to be brought to your room. When you have luggage etc, there isn't room for this. -The rooms are very small -Breakfast was cold The first room i had had the following issues; -Curtains coming away from rail -Bed had been made, but sheets not changed from prev occupier -Replacement sheets smelt musty and were stained (chamber maid blamed this on the detergent) -Mould in bathroom -Paint on ceiling coming away (damp) -Corners of bathroom floor had "brown" stuff on it -Head of housekeeping was really rude when i complained -Courtyard full of moss and mould (needs jet washing) -WiFi did not work in rooms, only reception I have taken several photos if anyone is interested.
I booked last minute for my trip and the the process was quick and easy. Access to the marvelous gym and pool complex was a bonus.
The hotel had a 'campus' feel to it and the corridors/stairs were a bit noisier than I would have liked.
It's a business and conference centre, so all a bit impersonal but ok for a night. There's a restaurant and bar, a bit like a college campus. The room was adequate and clean.
Rooms were a bit 'Cell Block H' and overpriced - we've been to much better hotels in the area, and had more value for money at all.
The price and the cleanliness of the rooms.
The food was awful. Probably the worst meal I have ever eaten, it was like being back at a school canteen.
Location cleanliness convenience
The fact it was a training centre not a hotel and that this was not obvious on the website
Staff helpful who are very friendly. Restaurant food is very good with a varied choice of fresh food. Salads, breads, main course and desserts. Bar area pleasant and relaxing with loads of space.
Decor is old fashioned but rooms are in process of being refurbished. No iron in room so you need to go to the utility room to use . Bit like a youth hostel.
Food is excellent. Really surprised by quality and range.
I got a small room that is due for refurbishment.
I didn't like the bed, t.v or the restaurant.
The staff were very friendly
The dinner selection did not cater to Vegetarian at all.
Very basic rooms
The Gym and Spa The food
Stayed there overnight to attend a Christmas party nearby; as it was near Christmas all hotels had hiked up there prices. We thought Kents hill park would be a good option at £60 for the night. We got there and it resembled poor student accommodation , the walls were thin, the bedrooms tiny, there were stains on the bed sheets, the tv picked up about two television stations and the remote didn't work so you had to get up to turn it off. My partner nearly broke his neck trying to get out of the bath /shower as there are no bath mats. You are given one key fob and room key so if one of you had it the other couldn't get into the other buildings or even lock the bedroom door. Wouldn't stay there again. I think we should have been charged £30 for what we had!
The Leisure facilities and breakfast.
Originally room made up for 1 person, had to ask for towels. Only 1 breakfast card given even though had paid for both of us so had to wait for the girl in the restaurant to check as she didn't believe me. How cold everywhere was especially the room. All of our towels were removed whilst we were at breakfast even though we hadn't checked out. We hadn't showered so had to ask for more towels, chambermaid wasn't very helpful at all.
The heating in the room didnt work. The radiator was on MAX but produced NO heat what so ever.!! The shower also had an issue with heat... Sometimes in would be warm then go cold.? I tired adjusting the taps but this never once corrected the problem. There also appeared to be a fault with the fan in the bathroom. It was extremely noisy and ran for nearly two hours after I'd finished using the bathroom which seems a bit excessive. This wouldn't normally be an issue however I used the bathroom after 23:30 and as such the fan (and noise) didnt stop until nearly 0100.!!! I was very disappointed with the room and if I knew who to complain to and ask for a refund I would have done so the following morning.
Location Standard of food
Price of food The comfort of the mattress Not being able to adjust heat in room myself Fuzzy TV channels Old fashioned interior
guests returning throughout the night banging doors and just noisy and inconsiderate
The stunner on reception
It was like a hostel for delinquents and not a business travellers hotel.
I like the stuff was helpful, and it worth money I paid until the last penny. According to price, best you can get. I had a heating problem and electricity plug but they supplied me an electrical heater until problem solved and supplied euro plug adapter asap.
Location is out of Milton Keynes, and finding taxi takes around 30 minutes every morning.
The total chaos of staying there on Monday night 24.11.14 Level 1- you had contractors/staff trying to fix a problem into the late evening who were shouting, banging doors, loud equipment in use. There was no appology and certainly no offer of alternative arrangements. That left me extremely tired, poor concentration and unprepaired for a meeting at work the following morning. I expected my stay at the centre to be of a relaxing and professional standard, but staff have to be aware of there surroundings and how they are conducting themselves even in the event of a problem, something you as Conference centre should be priding yourself in.
