Its proximity to the centre of Sheffield and pleasant surroundings The only thing that was frustrating was the sign on the counter that was only seen after starting a credit card transaction, saying that there was a charge for its use. If we had been 'told' about this we would have used an alternative card and saved further money on what was a good deal. |

Our room, number 305, was the largest standard hotel room we have ever had. The area with the TV (sky) was like a living room with very comfortable seating and a lot of space. the bedroom area and bathroom were also spacious and comfortable. The food at breakfast was good and the bar meals at night (we were too late for the restaurant) were fine. We weren't there long enough to appreciate the setting but it was in lovely grounds. Limited bar menu and a bit pricey. |

How freindly the staff were and very helpful , also the nice relaxed atmosphere in a good location . Was given room on bottom floor and because had diffilculty sleeping due to not being able to open windows and although had fan going all night had a very poor sleep . but was rectified by very helpful receiptonist name of vicky who was understanding and managed to move us to room with patio doors enabling us to have better sleep . also although rooms are spacious and presentable but are in need of some sprucing up in certain areas . |

We were fortunate to have one of the best views - the lake, but were were taken into some of the conference rooms by a very helpful member of staff and these were extremely well equipped. Beautiful setting for a city centre hotel |

Convenience to city centre but in residential area.Nice location.Restaurant and bar area welcoming. Pool good. Have stayed here at least 10 times in last 4 years and decor seems a little tired since Marriott chain left.Trays of dirty plates in corridor at 4pm still there at 8pm. |

Standards have gone down and it is difficult to say what was good. The location is good for visiting family. The standard of cleanliness was very poor and no one unblocked our bathroom sink..after two requests to have it done.Carpets dirty and nothing seemed fresh. The staff are not trained but were friendly enough. |

The location was beautiful, very tranquil The tv was very old. The path around the lake was very badly erupted in places, there was a warning about this but I tripped on the uneven surface and cut both hands |

It is a shame I did not have more time at the hotel, arriving late to check-in and leaving relatively early. Grounds look superb and good spot to explore surrounding countryside |

The grounds and lake were very pleasant for an urban hotel. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good on the whole with pleanty of choice though some items disappointed (tinned mushrooms, dry hash browns, nondescript sausages). Some dust on lamps in room. Carpet in corridors was tatty. |

Staff excellent, beautiful surroundings. We had a lovely evening meal followed by an excellent breakfast next morning. No there was nothing we did not like about the hotel but on arrival they did not have any confirmation of the booking which was made with Booking.Com. Nevertheless, the friendly staff soon sorted out the problem to our satisfaction. |

Rooms were large and comfortable, breakfasts were excellent, gardens and setting were stunning They did not clean my room or make the bed, I had to ask at reception. Reception staff were not helpful - I hurt my back and asked if they knew of a chiropractor nearby, the answer was "no" and that was it. I had to ask for a yellow pages when I feel they should have suggested this instead of a straight "no" |

Breakfast brought to our room - and it was delicious! Helpfull staff. Comfy, spacious room. It was our wedding night. A friend had brought our overnight case the night before along with a surprise mini bottle of champagne and two glasses which she asked to be put out on the little table. Unfortunately they were not. |
