In the heart of Old Portsmouth, the Duke of Buckingham is just a 10-minute walk from Gunwharf Quays and the historic waterfront.

This modern hotel is in Portsmouth city centre, just 500 metres from Portsmouth and Southsea Rail Station. The Ibis Hotel Portsmouth has a 24-hour snack menu, on-site parking and a stylish restaurant....

The Seacrest Hotel is situated on Southsea's seafront, looking out over award-winning gardens to the Solent and the Isle of Wight.

Large warm room and towels changed every day.
Poor plumbing re-toilet
We enjoyed this lovely hotel with is spacious rooms, attractive decor, and helpful staff. Interesting historical locations were within walking distance as well as shopping malls, cafe/restaurants,cinema etc. Travel facilities (train/bus/ferries) were also to hand.
No grumbles here!
Convenient to work site
The hotel is ideally situated for visiting the navel dockyard and old Portsmouth. We were a bit wary having read some of the reviews but tend not to take too much notice as some people are so negative and picky. Yes, the hotel is old, yes it is a bit shabby in places, but it has great character, the staff were nice, our room (room11) was clean, warm and comfortable and we had a very nice breakfast. We were also able to leave our car in the car park for 2 whole days whilst we walked around. We would go again.
Brilliant Location,good breakfast,helpfull staff,free parking.
Tired decor, street was noisy on night we stayed.
the position of the hotel, the free parking at the best possible place to use public transport during my stay.
Being on the third floor when my dog would not travel in the lift. (small and noisy)
It was comfortable, warm and wonderfully friendly. Short walking distance to the Historic Dockyard, Ferries and Gunwharf Quays. Our room had large windows which looked over the harbour. The breakfast sevice and food was excellent.
Lovely breakfast room. Great location for Gun Wharf. Comfortable quiet spacious room. Very old quirky property.
The Hotel was situated well for my needs, the staff very friendly and helpful. I was able to leave my car in the car park after I had checked out which was a great help to me.
This Hotel needs a lot of renovation, it is a bit frayed at the edges, but clean.
The location is excellent to visit naval yard and across the road shopping centre with plenty of places to eat, the breakfast is good and the staff are friendly
There is no wifi in rooms only lobby and and bar area, television is to small for size of room
The interesting view from the big bay window. Breakfast was excellent. Easy to find with on site free parking. Good location for getting bus into Southsea for the good resteraunts and pubs.
Noisy at night due to an all night food outlet opposite. Having said this, the boutique hotel next door would have the same noise for double the tariff.
Location is superb Breakfast very good
Uncomfortable bed and tired looking decor
the bed and the olden features.
The location, excellent car parking facilities and the breakfast was very good. But too pricy for the standard of accommodation.
As a boy I used to go to this hotel with my dad and it was among the best in Portsmouth. How sad to see it 50 years on in desperate need of a complete refurbishment. The whole place is run down and filthy. It is in a prime location and has great potential and in need of TLC. So very sad. The only good thing is the staff are friendly and very polite and breakfast was very good. come on owners wake up and smell the coffee. As a highly skilled decorator I could make the hotel smile again! Call me.
Staff were welcoming and freindly. Hotel is very well appointed for Historic Naval Dockyard and Gun Warf Quay
We have stayed at the Hotel before as it is ideal for visiting various nearby attractions & also near the ferry departure terminals. A bit tired the hotel may be but the rooms we have had have been spacious and clean and the staff are really obliging.
Being in the middle of everything location friendly helpful staff
The hotel in need of some tlc!!! Very very dated Such a shame very poor decor and furniture a good lick of paint and a new bathroom needed !!!!
The location was great for the Quays and the great ships. Good parking and the room views over the water. The hotel was grand once and it was beautiful to look at in a sad way. It was warm and linen was clean and staff very helpful. I would stay for for the cheaper side if thats what you are looking for.
The bed was rock hard to sleep on. Towels thin and the bathroom wasn't up to scratch in many ways. The cooked breakfast wasn't great and included canned tomatoes, a bit tastless and meagre. They should charge more and work at their job. I could have painted and refreshed the bedroom in a day, thats what is needed. Sadly, a neglected once beautiful hotel. It was like stepping back in time. You have to see the lift!!
The lovely dining room, the spacious bedroom. MOst of all the great staff!
good location breakfast nice staff friendly
Staff very helpful and friendly, hotel is a stones throw from the excellent Gunwharf Quays centre
It is close to the Centrum and stations
It is a little bit old fashion hotel
The hotel was built in Nelson's time, and was probably last decorated around then. It was originally on the waterfront but has been swallowed by ghastly sixties development. Despite this, the view from our window was excellent and the two arm chairs that were provided (find those in a modern hotel), allowed us to sit at the huge window and watch the world go by. The room was big, with authentic damp patches, the lift was from a Poirot novel, and the dining room, from Versailles. Some people would hate this; we loved it, and would return without hesitation.
Duty manager very accommodating. comfortable, breakfast freshly cooked and very nice. .
No food available except breakfast. As called a hotel, we expected to be able to eat there. We would also have expected the gentleman serving breakfast to be clean and tidy but he was wearing the same jumper which was covered in food two days running and we found this quite off putting
