Brilliant spot and we had a lovely weekend!
Derek and Monique are the most welcoming hosts. We felt like friends staying with friends. Monique's breakfasts are a legend in the making. As well as the traditional breakfasts she also offers a 'special' each day!
There is nothing at all to 'dislike'!
Gorgeous room, steeped in history, lovely hosts, will be back
Traffic out front a bit noisy but owners supplied ear plugs!
We absolutely loved Kester House - beautiful and charming old property, thoughtfully restored and furnished, with a lot of eye for detail. With 3 rooms only it is very intimate and makes one immediately feel at home - especially as the owners Derek and Monique are incredibly helpful and welcoming. Great stay - wish we could have stayed longer! Seddlescomb is a charming village as well, with a great local pub and lots of beautiful countryside around to explore on foot. We'll be back!
We got a very warm welcome when we arrived and the breakfasts were delicious. The local pub is a 5 minute stroll and the food there was good .It is very easy to get to many places of interest from Kester House
Derek and Minique are an example of kindness and attention for the customer. They take care of the small details that make you feel appreciate. The location is fantastic, you go back of 400 years, even if with modern comfort. The English breakfast they prepared for us was one of the best I've ever ate. A place we'd like to spend time again.
The network in the village is quite poor ( we have "Tre", but even switching on vodafone or O2 it wasn't better) and they do not have wireless. Not adapt to wheelchair, due to the structure of the house.
Location was excellent for day trips out. Derek and Monique who own the B&B are extremely welcoming and you immediately feel at home at Kester House. The breakfast was also delicious.
There was nothing we didn't like.
Good location for us. Booked a table for us at the local pub (within walking distance). Enjoyed the background history of the house.
Could not get wifi in our room but it was really a minor issue for us because there was a lovely sitting area downstairs.
Derek and Monique are very warm hosts in a charming "olde worlde" cottage. We were welcomed in with tea and cake and the coffees in our room were top quality. Breakfasts were great and we had use of the garden and the sitting rooms downstairs. Everywhere was impeccably clean.
We are light sleepers and as our room was at the front of the house, traffic from the road outside kept us awake. The second night we discovered that earplugs are supplied! We also wish we had discovered the fan earlier as it was very hot weather.
Talking with the hosts
Derek and Monique could not have been more welcoming and helpful. We were made to feel very much at home and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Wasn't much to not like.
Everything was wonderful, great location, beautiful house, so clean and all you needed for your stay was provided, and Derek and Monique were lovely and friendly
Only because we live on a private road where there is not a lot of traffic, this location was lovely but as it was the main road through the village you heard all the cars going by at night, but definitely wouldn't put me of staying there
The service here is very personal, especially the welcome you receive, and the breakfast was superb. The room was totally unique including a lovely four poster bed and original features including tiny doors! The village is delightful and the lively and welcoming pub is within walking distance. Just what you want out of an idyllic Sussex village. The location is great for access to lovely Rye and the coastal towns. Derek and Monique clearly care about their guests and the service is excellent as well as the quality of the breakfast.
Great hosts, very friendly & helpful, rooms very quaint, breakfasts excellent.
A real home from home. Nothing was too much trouble. An excellent base location for visiting National Trust properties. Breakfast 'specials' a delight.
Lovely guest house with friendly owners and all the little comforts thought of!
Derek and Monique were very friendly and helpful and made our stay most enjoyable. It was a brief visit for us as we had to leave early the next morning and they very kindly organised breakfast for us. We will definitely be going back for a longer stay.
Wonderful welcome in an amazing old house
It was fantastic. So welcoming. We had a lovely time
It was all perfect
Lovely old world charm with nevertheless up to date modern conveniences. The owners are caring but respecting ones privacy at the same time. They serve an excellent breakfast. We will be back.
