Loved the evening meal (on one of our nights). We were staying with a group of 8 and therefore having the meals served at the same time was a pleasant bonus. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We tried to book an evening meal for the occasion of our mum turning 80 and were told dinner was served on a strictly 'first come..' basis. When booking out we were informed that as resident guests we would have been able to book. We ended up eating at a very posh restaurant where the food was nothing like the one we had enjoyed the previous night at the hotel. |

the hotel staff were very friendly and ammenable, nothing was too much trouble for them The hotel had not received our reservationeven though we had confirmation. The rooms were small and not ready for occupation even though we were given the keys, and not made up with towels the following day. |

central location was appealing in spite of lack of car parking; food was good and well presented although only 1 item changed on the 'specials' board during our stay our room was not cleaned nor the tea-making facilities replenished on the third day; on arrival we were given incorrect information about car parking and rates nearby |

the hotel had a good atmosphere and was ideally located. local amenities were within walking distance. the staff barely spoke, when having breakfast we were not told where the cereals/condiments/fruit juices were located, or asked if we required anything,we just had to basically follow other people around. |

Position of the hotel, cleanliness of hotel and comfort of the room were all admirable. Attitude of one member of staff, very rude and unhelpful. |

Centrally located to the town centre and the lake. Very good breakfast and the pub did a good selection of reasonably priced bar meals. Very small room which was quite hot. It was facing onto the main street and was noisy from 4 to 4.30 am when a delivery was made to a shop close by and on Thursday from 6.30 am when the street market was being erected.. |

Bed was comfortable and bathroom large. Looked modern but this is deceptive. Please see below. Run-down exterior, windows frames etc. Bathroom shower useless sometimes inaffective as no pressure to it. Heating on in the hallways in the summer... why? The rooms in general were warm and no effective air-conditioning. The famous breakfast was nothing to speak about and the food is general pub grub. |

Convenient location. Room too small for a double bed. Staff were scruffy and stood just outside hotel lobby smoking - the lobby/entrance stank of cigarette smoke. |
