Everything was on the doorstep and didn't have to get up to early for breakfast
Being woken up by noisy lorries from 6.30 in morning
comfortable. food was beyond excellent. recent refurb was of an excellent standard.
hole in ceiling with water leaking into bucket on the first landing.
Central to everything in the town. Nice refurb too.very friendly staff and lovely and clean.
A bit too warm in the room and the heater was not on.
Keswick a lovely town with plenty to occupy the visitor, and lots of public spaces to enjoy.
Parking is real problem.
The decoration was lovely truley a home away from home. The staff were really excellent always happy to help even when they are busy. The restaurant and bar were also excellent again decorated so beautifully! Location was also brilliant! There is no parking but that's not the fault of the hotel and there are plenty of options around including on street free parking that we found only a three minute walk away.
That we had to go home!
Staff were superb, really friendly, especially Jade. Rooms were nicely done out, right in the town centre, easy to get round and about, typical pub atmosphere, food was exceptional.
No on site parking, but only 10 minute walk from free parking if you know where to go.
Location - Couild not be more central Bedroom - we paid a bit extra and got Room No 2 which was better than we thought having read some of the other write ups. Clean, spacious and a good design. The hotel reburbishment makes this old coaching house feel like a modern, fresh hotel. The food was excellent, we eat there in the evening and had a first class breakfast the next day - top marks for value. I would return for the same deal.
1 small wardrobe could have been a problem if staying for a few days. Can be noisy late at night outside due to its central location, but if you want a central location, then you cannot really complain about the noise..
Superb location right in the heart of Keswick. Very friendly staff. The bar had a great selection of ales and good food both very reasonably priced!! The room was well decorated with a cosy yet modern feel and had a separate living area and a very comfortable bed....best nights sleep in a while!!
The toilet in our room didn't flush very well. My partner knocked her glasses under the bed and on moving it to retrieve them it was very dusty and hadn't been cleaned in a long while. Only minor negative points but given the price I thought I'd mention it. Parking is also an issue but it is the same for most hotels/b&b's in Keswick.
Very noisy - they moved us to another room - previous one was inter connecting could hear everything - was upgraded to a superior room - window was propped open with a piece of wood!! Beds made everyday but nothing else cleaned !!!!!
The food was excellent and the staff we very friendly and helpful.
The Room (20) was the size of a small cupboard. The room was far too warm to allow a decent sleep. Opening a window only let in the noise from the road and again a disturb sleep.
We stayed here recently for one night. The property is ideally situated in the centre of Keswick. Our room although small was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. We had dinner in the restaurant which was extremely good and the breakfast provided the next morning was also excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again and would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in this beautiful area of the country.@
On the site a small double £90 gave the option of beds 131-150 cm. I requested a large bed but was told on check-in that that was a different price, - they were Royal Rooms! The food was poor.
The staff were very accommodating and efficient. The location is ideal.
Parking is manageable but somewhat inconvenient. Could some sort of a deal with the council be done to enable clients to use the main car park at reduced rates?
Excellent location on the main st, 10 min stroll through the park to Derwent water, facilities good, had an evening meal which was plentiful and tasty, reasonable price, though the place was fully booked staff were on hand at all times and helpful with any enquiries.
The staff are friendly ,the room clean ,comfortable bed and big shower, the breakfast was lovely ,with cereals fresh fruit ,yogurt, croissants and a good selection of preserves and juices ,the cooked breakfast was also good and requests catered for, also cater for dogs ,nothing was too much trouble to the staff ,certainly warrants another visit,as its in agreat location on the main street, handy to walk around the shops and other places to eat and drink, all in all a lovely place to stay .
Not a lot of negatives really ,we stayed in room 1 which was small and very warm, even with the window open all night, the noise from the kitchen extractor fan,was a nuisance as it kept us awake.it would make a good single room rather than a double as no room at the foot of the bed to walk through easily.the car park is only a couple of minutes away so not too bad ,but would be better if the hotel had their own ,but not a big problem, had a lovely 3nigjht stay
Boutique clean comfort and staff welcoming with good customer service
Great accommodation excellent food great location lots to do day and night . Loved the theatre
The staff were so friendly and helpful and always smiling. Food was excellent. We ate in at night good variety on the menu. Rooms were beautifully laid out and our bathroom was lovely.
Rooms were quite small but adequate size in room 1 we could only just pass the end of the bed to get to the bathroom. Our son had a problem with the shower in their room. We would return to this hotel again as the pluses far outweighed the minuses.
The hotel was ideally placed for access to the town & the room was clean with a comfortable bed.
Double bed was squeezed into a room only big enough for a single. Room was stuffy and window opened onto space containing ventilation ducts & fans.
Staff were excellent Age of place- 1590! Dog friendly Food was great and plentiful Great position for exploring
Due to the age of the place the bed slopped! Shower screen broken No close parking
Being on the main central street in Keswick, it was extremely noisy on the Friday and Saturday nights until the early hours from outside the hotel. Being in a room above the bar there was a continuous thump of music until late.
The place was lovely, tidy and area great for walking.
Executive suite was not what we expected it was one room with a bed and a bath room off of it and the wide screen tv was about 19" no fresh milk in the room had to attend the bar for some, the room was just not big enough to be an executive suite and when we asked about it we were told that it was worded worn online no happy with the room at all.
Staff and service.
Could be a bit cheaper. Can hear people too easily in room next door.
Great place , great food
Lack of parking, which is just the towns problem.
