Raphael - Lovely big room. Good breakfast.
Raphael - Very noisy room and only bathroom window opened. Lots of stairs to some rooms in the main hotel.
The food quality and waiter service was first class and staff very helpful. Enjoyed every minute of our stay. Will be back again soon!
Nothing to dislike.
Breakfast was ok and the staff were polite and attentive.
It is not value for money, the bar is as expensive as well. House keeping remade the beds but did not tidy anything or replenish the coffee etc. The ensuite had recently been redone but as cheaply as possible with the plastic wall boards not at all in keeping with the style of the building and not done well. The tariff is £80 per person per night it should not charge more than £80 a room per night.
Good car park Excellent buffet breakfast Helpful staff Dining room, reception and bar very comfortable and impressive
Our bedroom was shabby and only limited toiletries were provided-bedroom disappointing after seeing how nice dining room and bar were.
Amazing location, clean rooms, exellent dinner menu, bright airy dinning room.
Staff were very efficient and welcoming. Food was good and menu changed daily. Good location within walking distance of Keswick town centre but nice quiet location.
Bathroom quite small and bath small, but clean.
a bit like an old peoples home
The food was the best ive ever tasted, the service was first class
corridors were a bit dated
Everything! Hotel was very dirty, massively in need of an upgrade. Peeling wallpaper, damp, filthy curtains, smashed lights and poor service.
Lovely old building in beautifull surroundings close to amenities of Keswick. Good breakfast
Rooms are very tired and there was nothing superior about the so called'superior room' we had besides the price. Bar very tired decor and furnishings. Not a very welcoming atmosphere . Not good value for money
From the the very beginning of our stay all the staff without exception were both friendly & helpful making this our first visit to the hotel memorable and determined to return as soon as possible
No complaints at all
Bedrooms a good size and well furnished. Location, staff, quality and variety of menus very good..All the ground floor facilities i.e.Reception, Dining room, bar and lounges were very comfortable and welcoming and the staff could not have been more helpful. We certainly hope to come back.
Not a dislike, just recommendation. A hand bar on bathroom wall in shower would be helpful and also a full length mirror in the bedroom.(201).
We stayed in the station rooms which were very comfortable. The food was excellent. Would highly recommend this hotel. Great location too
.Brilliant location .Friendly and helpful staff .Food Excellent .Beautiful Building .Reception staff very helpful
.Sloping floor in Room 115 .Need a bit of a update
The food at this hotel will not be beaten, this is fine dining at its best, would highly recommend this to anybody.
Although the hotel is steeped in History it is very tired looking inside and could do with a facelift, but the food far out weights this.
Excellent service in the restaurant. Excellent food. Very clean rooms.
Lack of any entertainment.
Staff were excellent in every way.Lovely views from bedroom.Food was first class as was the service in the restaurant.
The staff, service was 5 star. We will definitely stay again.
The bathrooms very out of date but the shower worked fine. The decor is out of date in certain parts of the hotel, but it would not put us off staying there again.
The location and friendliness of staff
The hotel could do with a lick of paint but this did not deter from the overall stay
The interior is very modern and well kept, yet doesn't take anything away from the history of the hotel. The meals in the restaurant are excellent with a great selection of food at both breakfast and dinner.
Location is ideal for walking. Food is excellent and plenty of it
