The upgrade was tremendous. Fantastic views. Excellent breakfast. Close proximity to town centre.
Can't fault it
Food great..staff really friendly and helpful...relaxed atmosphere... Good location.. Always have a happy time staying here and recommend it.
Bedding...duvets really heavy seemed weighted at the end!!? Lightweight summer ones would have been more comfortable. Mattresses quite hard on the single beds we had.
Will be booking this hotel again in November for a short weekend break, it's location is perfect and I loved the peaceful quite relaxed atmosphere you get when you stay at this hotel.
Nothing I didn't like really, lack of car park space could be an issue when someone had parked over 2 bays
Clean. Friendly staff on reception. Fantastic location. Easy walk in to Keswick. Good parking on site. Lovely building with lovely grounds. Spacious room with good views (201). Good choice of buffet breakfast.
Bit expensive. Bed a bit on the firm side therefore not much sleep.
The food was excellent. So was the service. Spacious rooms.
The heating system was erratic. On some kind of timer which didn't correspond with our need.
Can't fault this hotel. The food is exelant. To anyone who is considering staying here! Don't hesitate just book it and you will have a great time.
Restaurant deserves 5* staff very friendly will book again
Draughty bedroom window
Excellent location, with the benefit of ample free parking. Good service from all staff. Although breakfast is essentially a self-service affair, the food on offer meets most people's needs and is very well prepared. Despite being an old building, the rooms are fairly well appointed and as modern as can be expected; it's not boutique-hotel quality but it's not aiming for that standard. This seems like an "honest" hotel which doesn't have any pretensions to be something it's not; it is very good value for money.
The dinner menu always looks very inviting but the portion sizes are far too large. A bit less food, prepared a little better would be an improvement.
Rather soft twin bed mattresses
Excellent meals with great choices.
Station room really needed an update, felt old fashioned and not contemporary.
All good - cant fault anything¬
lovely room ,freindly staff, lovely 3 course meal ,nice surroundings easy walk to town .
On the morning we were leaveing we went for breakfast came back to our room the find the cleaners had empty are wardrobes and hung are clothes on the the door .We came back for breakfast at 10 0clock checking out time was 11oclock .
The location, the staff, comfortable bedroom, breakfast was good.
Public rooms rather dreary, and there was no escape from the awful, too-loud piped music. Our ground floor bedroom in the old station looked onto the car park on one side, the station platform on the other - would have preferred a room in the main building with a view of the fells.
Relaxing stay. Food good. Wonderful views from bedroom. No problem with parking.
Spacious environment with friendly, efficient staff. Excellent food in well situated restaurant.
Often had to find bar staff ...they seemed to have other work to do away from the bar area.
We loved the view from our room overlooking the putting green / bunny field.
Food was amazing
Hotel is very run down
The food was very good. The breakfast buffet was regularly replenished. There were plenty of seats to sit around the grounds.
Although we stayed in summer there were 13.5tog quilts on the beds and no alternative bedding.
Staff were very friendly & helpful . Food & service excellent . Great location for walkers & people who just want to relax .
Decor in general needs updating .
Excellent location, lovely dining room with great breakfast.
Room was comfortable but a little tired, particularly the bathroom.
Large comfortable room, excellent food, polite and friendly staff and pleasant surroundings.
Having to hunt for bar staff in the afternoons.
Lovely location. We had a pleasant stay at this hotel on our trip up to the Scottish Highlands.
The rooms had no air conditioning and only one window opened partially making the room uncomfortably hot.
excellent staff excellent choice of food on menu excellent breakfast very short walk from Keswick
The location was good, staff polite and friendly, food very good
Poor wifi coverage (have to log on to the Keswick wifi), the hotel is genrally a little tired and could do with some tlc
The service and food - excellent! Plenty of space in the hotel to sit and relax. Well positioned to explore the area.
