The food was fantastic, great location, hotel lounge very relaxing ,hotel faultless , staff very friendly every single one I met , would definitely return if I stay in keswick again !
i could not complain about anything but from a top top hotels point of view I would say the toilet rolls could be a better ( stronger ) make !
Very comfortable throughout the hotel. Excellent staff in all departments. Lovely dinning room with great food.
Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. excellent breakfast, and ideal location.
the room we stayed was sloping badly to the extent that both nights the bed moved away from the wall by several inches. avoid room number 215.
Staff very friendly, helpful & efficient. Wonderful food!
The efficiency yet friendliness of staff
Pleasant location good hotel excellent food. Staff polite and courteous
The food was such good quality much more than we expected from a 3 star hotel. Also the hotel is conveniently placed just 5 minutes walk from the town centre.
The hotel interior is a bit tired but nothing to worry about as you will spend most of your time outside enjoying the location and pubs
The food and friendly staff
Our room with the view of Cat Bells
The hotel manager kindly gave us an upgrade to a 'Garden Room', which was perfect. The reception staff are friendly, the bedroom was lovely, with a bay window overlooking the garden area. With the bay window it was nice to watch the 'bunnies' running all over the garden and 'putting green' in the evenings. We had great views of red sky sunsets over the mountains in the distance. Tea & Coffee facilities are good with tasty biscuits...but more choice of different tea bags would be nice. We stayed as Dinner, Bed & Breakfast, the morning breakfast was plentiful with a large choices of fruit, cereal and cooked breakfast. When booking the evening meals, give plenty of notice, as peak times get full quickly, but saying that it was more relaxed later on. The choice of starter, main meal and puddings are very good with nice selection between meats, fish and vegetarian (2 vegetarian choices on all meals). The staff are very attentive, and polite. This hotel is the perfect place to stay when visiting Keswick, for either a relaxing break, or a day up on the hills.
The only small criticism would be that even though the owners have spent a lot of investment, there are areas where the stairs carpets and certain area of wallpaper (in the dining room) are showing 'wear' and could do with replacing. Bearing in mind that this is a lovely old Victorian building, there are small areas that need 'tidying', but overall its a very nice place to stay.
Food was excellent and the hotel was situated close to the town and Derwent lake.
Everything 3 very relaxing days.
Good food Friendly service Great location
In need of refurbishment No blind/curtain to bathroom Better parking facilities
We have friends that stay regularly and praise the hotel, especially the food! Our visit reinforced this, it was excellent - but don't tell too many people.
The breakfasts and especially the dinners were excellent and to have a change of menus over the two night stay was very good planning. Keep up the good work.
Single duvets on single beds is not on! Better to use double duvets, much more cosy.
The food the bath also the bar. Staff were very friendly and accommodating x
An excellent hotel, very helpful staff, clean and spacious rooms and a fantastic restaurant with a very high quality, varied menu. Brilliant location for the centre of Keswick. A very enjoyable stay.
Food excellent. Very easy access to town centre.
Draught from single glazed windows
The food was excellent, the standard was much higher than the official 3 star rating.
No negatives for this hotel.
Adequate free parking. Dinners really very (& unexpectedly) good, and different menu each evening.Large room, bathroom small but spotless. Heated towel rail!!
Everything except the bed
The mattress on the bed i could feel all the springs sticking through and didn't get a lot of sleep Would i stay here again NO
Staff were excellent and very helpful. In the first room we were given the floor sloped a lot but we were moved to a much nicer room with a level floor.
Staff were very helpful , rooms were ready early which was a bonus , food was good value for money. All round good hotel in a very good location.
Everything was great couldnt fault it
