Keswick Country House Hotel  

Room very spacious, house wine selection better than expected. Beer good. Very relaxed feeling through out.

Bar and beer expensive, restriction on playing snooker after 10 pm seemed a bit early, though I understand reason why I think 11 would be more reasonable.

this is a beautiful old manor with so much character. The room was very clean and the breakfast was fantastic. Loved staying here.

I think that a choice of different potatoes on main meals would be helpful the bathroom floor was sloping and made me feel a bit dizzy

Hotel had free parking,with location close to town and Room as described. Excellant shower with powerful flow and plenty of hot water. Good cooked breakfast kept hot and fresh. Staff helpful and plentiful in dining room. Reception efficient

Staff were friendly and hard working. The area is probably the best in England. Easy access to town and country. Excellent walking area. Excellent selection at mealtimes. Hotel comfortable and clean.

As far as we are concerned there is nothing not to like.

Lovely setting, good location, good breakfast

Our friends stayed in a back room overlooking the staff quarters the staff sit outside and drink and smoke all the time and make a nois. The room floor of the room was on a slant and the bed was not straight. So the felt like they were at sea and did not sleep all night our room was in the main house and was small but fine.

I liked the style of the hotel - large rooms and general spaciousness. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast choice was wonderful and the one dinner we had in the hotel was beautifully cooked, presented and served.

Quality of food in restaurant was delicious - althoughwe would have been happier with smaller portions. (Perhaps chef assumes we are all hungry climbers . Most guest appeared 'mature' walkers prefering low level hikes).

The food at the hotel was first class, the room was clean and had everything you could wish for. Our view out of the window was amazing - great place to stay and can highly recommend.

Beautiful scenery and within easy walk of town with various other places of interest close by available either by car or public transport. Well appointed Dining Room where the food was excellent.

Outlook from room over refuse (bin) area with some rather unsightly outbuildings . . . . but Hey, someone has to do it ! ! The view of the hills made up for it though.

Lack of WI FI in public areas apart from tiny area near reception. Should be available in lounge also. No good for business travellers. Rooms need upgrading especially bathrooms.

The hotel is spacious and does a great breakfast. The grounds and area it is involved it a nice rural ambiance.

The retaurant evening menu was excellent.

On the Saturday evening on the 9th March 2013 a family celebration party took over the lounge area of the bar which spoilt the evening's relaxation after our evening meal. They moved all the chairs to accomodate them selves which left it difficult for other people to find seating area together.
