Kew House offers well-equipped stylish and contemporary guest accommodation, suitable for both business travellers and those exploring the magnificent city of Edinburgh for leisure.

Offering personal and unobtrusive service, the 6 rooms are uncluttered and immaculate. Secure parking and Wi-Fi wireless broadband internet access are included in the rate, as is a generous cooked breakfast with an extensive choice of items.

There are also 2 luxury apartments, both adjacent to Kew House. These apartments are serviced daily and offer additional privacy and more space. The apartments are available for stays of a minimum of 2 nights and can accommodate up to 3 people in 2 separate rooms. The apartments offer a great-value alternative to traditional hotel accommodation and with all the freedom, independence and convenience of an apartment, you can explore Edinburgh at your leisure. Private parking and a continental breakfast are included in the price.

The guest lounge is a tranquil, comfortable oasis in which you can relax at the end of a busy day, and our personal service ensures that if you need us, we are here to help. Ian and Alan, the owners, offer unobtrusive help and assistance, as and when you need it; from a simple request for directions; to an interesting restaurant away from the tourist hordes; to helping you plan what to do while you are in Edinburgh.

Free wireless broadband access is available from 10:00 to 23:00, within Kew House, with a Wi-Fi hot-spot. Please note that Wi-Fi wireless broadband internet access is not guaranteed in the apartments, but guests may use the Kew House facility. There is also a computer available for guests use in the lounge.

Food & beverage

Continental breakfast is served in the Daily Serviced Apartments.

Cooked breakfast is served in the rest of the rooms.

All of the rooms are stylish, immaculate and comfortable, with all the modern comforts and facilities you need in a restful, relaxing base. Whether you are exploring Edinburgh as a tourist, visiting the area on business or attending a conference, the comfortable, peaceful rooms provide a relaxing haven.

Area information

Kew Terrace is a listed terrace (row house) on the main route to and from Edinburgh Airport but just 1.6 km (one mile) from Princes Street. This means that visiting the main attractions such as the Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle is easy but we are also in an ideal location for the airport if you have an early flight. We are ideally located and within walking distance of Edinburgh Zoo, Edinburgh International Conference Centre, Murrayfield Rugby Stadium, Tynecastle Park, The National Gallery of Modern Art as well as the other main galleries. If walking is not your thing then there are around 20 buses per hour to take you on the 5 minute trip to Princes Street.

It was perfect for our situation. I stayed with my Mother and husband. So for the cost of a double room and a single room at a hotel we were able to stay in a Kew House apartment with access to a kitchen, living room, eating nook and separate bedrooms. The fellows who run the place are wonderful and funny. The apartment was cleaned every day with fresh bread and juice every morning.

No hand towel in the kitchen! The heating was too hot!

Building next door was not so nice with the windows blinded with wooden boards.

The staff were fantastic offering me great advice and maps on Edinburgh and which castles to go to on my drive the next day. The room was very comfortable and modern.

Parking location - behind the hotel in another street. With street closures in the city centre it made it difficult to get to.

The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean, attractive and spacious.

It did seem quite expensive (but then a lot of Edinburgh accommodation is) and I think the room would have been too hot if the weather hadn't been so awful.

The friendliness of the owner and how helpful he was with tourist information, directions etc. Secure parking facilities and the area was very quiet. We stayed in the apartments at the back of the guest house which were very clean, good facilities and serviced daily. We had no complaints at all.

Sehr ruhige Lage, freundliche, kompetente Informationen zum Nahverkehr und Besichtigungen in der Stadt und gute Restaurantempfehlungen!

Das Frühstück im Appartment ist nicht außergewöhnlich, wir haben uns dazu ausgezeichnete Käse und Kaffee in der Stadt gekauft.
