Located within the Roman city walls of historic Canterbury’s center, this family-run hotel dates back to the 16th century. It has free Wi-Fi, a restaurant, and a cozy, oak-beamed bar.
Score from 499 reviews Very good
With a 24-hour front desk, this hotel features free breakfasts and a modern restaurant. The Holiday Inn Express Canterbury is in Upper Harbledown, just outside historic Canterbury.
Score from 663 reviews Good
A delightful old pub close to the center of the city and its many tourist attractions. The ruins of the ancient water mill (hence Miller's Arms) on the River Stour remain alongside the pub.
Score from 303 reviews Excellent
Less than 3 miles from the historic centre of Canterbury, this luxury B&B enjoys a rural setting within its own oak woodland.
Score from 302 reviews Wonderful
Quick check-in at reception, located just inside the main entrance of Keynes, staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet, with en-suite bathroom. Towels and toiletries were provided. There was also access to a shared kitchen. Fast wifi in room and multiple plug sockets. Regular bus service, approx 10 mins into Canterbury. Well stocked campus shop couple of minutes away. Overall a very pleasant stay.
Only minor things; difficult to find the block where my room was due to a lack of signposting, would be helpful to be given a more detailed map with block labels on. Due to security windows the room had very little airflow so could become quite hot in summer. Door doesn't lock automatically when leaving, have to swipe key again (not necessarily bad but should have been told). Mattress was a bit lumpy but it is student accommodation. Would have liked to be able to checkout later than 10am.
It was quiet and a peaceful stay and breakfast was a bonus
The room was clean ,and the breakfast was very nice . For the price compared to other accomodation we have stayed at in Canterbury ( hotels) it was great.
We normal stay in the city centre, so the uni is a bit further out . The buses are very good and a taxi home after a Evening out was under £10.
All facilities available for people who have been travelling for weeks including a coin operated laundry and a common room kitchen where guest can cook their own meals if they want ,but the meals at the university cafe were excellent and reasonably priced. The room was very clean and a very fast internet connection is available included in the price of the room.
Nothing we really did not like but this is usually student accommodation so there are no lifts to the upper floors. We had to carry heavy bags up several flights of stairs but people with disabilities could ask for a ground floor room.
Comfortable room, modern building, quiet location surrounded by a nice park, well-maintained facilities, fairly generous breakfast, extremely convenient parking
It is more or less a 30-minute walk to get to the town centre and to the main attractions
The campus is very beautiful and there are lovely views of Canterbury. It is a quiet place, but there are frequent buses from the campus to the center of Canterbury and to Whitstable.
This is not applicable, since I enjoyed my stay very much.
the location is perfect, the staff were up and doing keeping the rooms clean.this is comendable
one felt too lonely in the rooms as facilities like television are not available.
I am a student in UCL and comparing to these accommodations, our university seems to be having a lot of catch-up to do! Large fully furnished rooms, clean and quite. The design which there is a switch beside the bed is so convenient.
Clean compfy good breakfast close to canterbury + nice and helpful staff
Room size and facilites Helpful receptionist Location Bunnies in the grounds
The breakfast was't bad. For travellers who are on academic mission either short term like conferences or longer programmes, here is ideal for it. Barrister Ogueche Ire Chinasa. Enugu, Nigeria.
The staff should be a little bit friendlier and ready to assist travellers with difficulties in locating their blocks and rooms especially when they have logages with them.
Good value for money and fabulous breakfast.
The room smelt damp and musty when we arrived so please keep the windows open to help ventilate.
The precise room among a spacial campus
Without a car its a pisser to get to an from later at night.
Place was really clean, for the value of money inclusive breakfast which I enjoyed.
the shower, does not drain as fast when showering causing flood.
Friendly helpful staff, service, and food, both in the evening and in the morning. The bar makes excellent pizzas with a unique queuing system. The restaurant has a very good varied menu but is run on a cafeteria style, which to be fair is to be expected as it is a college facility. I also liked the security aspect of the whole campus.
Staff at the breakfast. Convenience of parking.
Check out at 10am is fair too early, especially as check in isn't until 2pm
The location is superb. After finding a parking space, the excellent bus service into the centre makes sightseeing easy. The breakfasr was first class.
spacious, clean, tea, coffee and hot chocolate and water bottles.
bit confused initially on how to lock our bedroom door.....key fobs new to us!!!
Cleanliness, breakfast, location
Great location close to Canterbury
Building work commencing at 6am and finishing after midnight with noise and bright lights on throughout. Did not help with having a good nights sleep.
Really impressed! Felt like a hotel room and had a lovely big kitchen to go in as well. Would definitely stay again
Good comfortable rooms and 10mjns walk to bus stop very convenient
Need some good signs to show directions to the place and to the blocks
cotton tailed bunnies, clean & quiet room. Good wifi and big kitchen
breakfast time is too early to close no lift in the building , not good for the travellers with big luggages, no view
No iron, no iron board (despite have made explicit request about it well in advance); no telephone; no lamp/switch for lights near the bed; one small bottle of water?? Why are you charging customers for that? If is it justified to have one, then why I was not given at least one for each day I stayed there? And if it is unjustified, why are you spending resources in those bottles of water? There is no one to ask for information about the facilities of the accommodation between 10pm and 9am the following day. Couldn't you have at the minimum the courtesy to made that explicit in your advertisement? I would have expected a little bit more than that with a telephone number to contact someon who could have informed me about things like: where is the iron and the iron board.
Excellent room, very clean Shop and cafe on site Pleasant walk into Canterbury Ample parking
Bed was a little uncomfortable
