At the western end of Loch Tay, overlooking the beautiful River Lochay, the Killin Hotel offers rooms with private bathrooms, a riverside bistro and a popular local pub. Built on the site on a 17th-century inn, the Killin Hotel sits across from the local bowling green, tennis courts, putting green and park. Killin Golf Club is a walk down the road. Enjoy the relaxed conservatory and terrace in summer, while in winter you’ll find a welcome log fire in the cozy lounge-bar. Bring a laptop and you can use the free Wi-Fi. This is the third time I have stayed at the Killin hotel and it wont be the last. The staff are wonderful and really go out of their way to accomodate your needs. Although the hotel was fully booked we (including two puppies), were treated as though we were the only guests there. The breakfasts are superb, its not often hotels get scrambled eggs right but at the Killin Hotel they do. The cheesecake is great too and with all the lovely walks in the area there is no need to feel guilty for indulging in it!

Good location, both immediate and for exploring this part of the Highlands. The Hotel is an old building but is being renovated, the vintage lift is wonderful ! Earlier reviews mentioned worn carpets, these were being replaced on our visit. Staff helpful and friendly. Breakfast was part help yourself and part efficiently deliverd by the friendly and polite staff. Would we stay here again? - certainly. Some may take note of old bathroom fixtures but it was clean and functional.

The entrance of the hotel is old and charming as is the reception and restaurant, and apart from the service the food is very nice. Killin is beautiful and an excellent location for access to the majority of Southern Scotland and the mountains. The hotel is massively overpriced. Our room had very little space, enough for a small double bed and one bed side table, there was no towel rails so we had to hang wet towels over chairs, except as the wardrobe had only 3 hangers we had already hung our clothes over them. The shower curtain is tiny so having a shower soaks the whole bathroom. The room had cobwebs and splits in the wallpaper. The staff are very friendly but overstretched running the bar, reception and restaurant between two of them. The walls are very thin leaving nothing to the imagination about what is happening in the room next door, especially with creaky beds. Worth about 1/3 of what they charge at most.

It was our first wedding Anniversary and the the staff made us feel very special. All the staff were fantastic at the Hotel and we would defiantly go again. The salmon main course was also very good. The Breakfast was very good you could tell that the food items were of a good quality very nice Bacon, sausages and mushrooms.

Good location for walking. Good breakfast. The room we stayed was for disabled people. As such, the bath room was only an empty room with a shower unit (no curtain), toilet and a small basin. There was no blind at the bathroom window, so that people walking by could see us through the smoked glass. We could hear people walking and talking upstairs, which woke us up early in the morning.

The room was spacious. Food was very good and fairly priced. The heating was not working and the shower took forever to produce hot water. On the plus side there was a fleece blanket provided which was most welcome given the coldness in the room.

Very helpfull staff, trying their hardest with a very poor worn out hotel Worn out hotel that could do with a tidy up and make over. Room was very poor. We stayed in 'annex' which we were told & on web site was a recent addition. Hotel looks great on web site, but very different when we got there. It was worn out, door didnt fit and after a hard slam got it locked. There is a hole in the roof where there was a previous leak, also leaving a huge black damp patch in roof. There was 1 tiny electric heater in room, it was useless to heat room, a place like this needs propper heating. The view from the room was terrible, it was like a scrap yard, so we kept the blind closed the whole stay. The blind on the door fell off and I had to repair. The was no blind in the bathroom. The bathroom was totally unacceptable,it was a disabled bathroom, freezing, broken towel rail, tiny sink, no toilet seat, very basic and felt uneasy taking a shower. Was offered 2 other room when I mentioned this at an additional cost ! but had to decline as this would mean kids would be in seperate room! We wont go back, shame as very nice staff. Total dissapointment.

The Four poster room was comfortable and had great views from the bedroom and bathroom windows. The food and wine selection at dinner was very good. Also the bar had a lovely log fire which was ideal at this time of year along with a good bar selection and service.Intend to go back again in the future. The only issue was the freezing cold bathroom, no heating.

The location of the hotel is fantastic with breathtaking views of the mountains and surrounding countryside. The room was clean and comfortable although a tad on the small side but more than made up for by the food and the views. The quality of food in the restaurant was superb, as was the breakfast that was included in the price of the room. The staff were friendly and helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay - my only regret was that I was only there for one night.

Excellent value for money. I was on a fishing trip to Loch Tay with my son. Our boat hire was 100 yards from the hotel. Staff were friendly, meals were good copious fare and the bar had a good real ale! It is not luxury; but it is excellent value for money. We also caught fish - we'll be back.

Great value for money. With a careful lick of paint and refurbished the hotel could easily be in a different league. Has not been decorated for some time although this was reflected in price. No complaints although hotel could be quite special

Nice staff, food is okay, like the pub Rooms need to be redecorated. Bathroom too small and old. Four poster bedroom not what we expected so the price was too high. Better book a normal double room.

Our stay at Killin Hotel was very relaxing. The staff were exceptional, very friendly, efficient and happy to help. Our room was just perfect for our stay and the public rooms are so cosy and welcoming. The surrounding area is second to none no matter what time of year you visit.

Staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was very good. This hotel is in need of some upgrading. Although it was clean and comfortable it would now benefit from being 'refreshed' to bring it up to the standard of other hotels in the area which we have stayed in which are in a similar price range.
