location friendly staff price
rather cramped car parking room was fair - relatively comfortable, not particularly 'smart' -a bit dated, but o.k.for the price
The staff were unfailingly helpful and friendly. Breakfasts were wonderful with good quality food well cooked. The room was good with a comfortable bed and armchair. Would happily recommend the hotel to anyone.
A couple of very minor niggles, mentioned only because they would be easy to put right. The fixed hairdryer was nowhere near a mirror which makes styling hair whilst drying it difficult. The very good mirror was placed just so you see yourself as you get out of bed, not a sight I enjoy!
A quaint Scottish town on a beautiful river with great waterfalls. Large facility that was clean and comfortable. Breakfast good, dinner good but slow service. Stayed here many years ago and enjoyed returning for a night.
It would have been great to stick around and take advantage of the location because it' s a beautiful area.
Room extremely shabby. We had booked for 3 nights but we only stayed 1, and that was only because it was late when we got there!
The staff and food was excellent. Location was good and would recommend The Killin to anyone looking for a great place to stay in the great country of scotland!!!
Food was good,
Matress springs digging in to back,
good food served where we wanted. Nice to sit in the conservatory. Easy access to bar, very relaxing stay
Location was very good. Loved the Conservatory. Staff very helpful
Bathroom in room 21 was too small. found Hotel too hot at times.
Temperature throughout was too high
ideal location and food was good
bed was as hard as a board and in need of replacement and the bedroom window would not shut
Noisy doors. Dogs in bar area
We stayed in a river view four poster room, which was warm and quiet. Helpful friendly staff and good quality breakfast. Considering the price, our visit was excellent value for money.
The mattress was not particularly comfortable and there were bright lights overlooking the car park, just outside the bedroom window, which made it difficult to get to sleep.
Friendly staff and good service. Good view from bedroom.Situated in a pretty village.
Nothing to grumble about.
The staff were very friendly and pleasant. The rate for accommodation was excellent. The wifi was efficient and convenient. The hotel is beautifully situated and I enjoyed my time there.
On checking in, the staff had noted on their paperwork that I was vegetarian. They asked me if this was correct and I confirmed it was. I was encouraged by this, but at breakfast the next morning when I said I was vegetarian, the waiter said they did not provide a vegetarian breakfast! All he could suggest was the 'full Scottish breakfast' without the bacon, black pudding and sausage, so I got a miserably small breakfast which was very disappointing. As I had booked for a further night, and knew what to expect, I asked at breakfast if I could have extra portions of the non-meat items, which at least made the breakfast more substantial. Not wishing to be a 'complainer' I mentioned the whole scenario to staff (the manager?) on checking out and received the reply 'what's a vegetarian breakfast'. I suggested that it would be easy to at least keep veggie sausages and potato scones in the freezer. I would certainly stay at this hotel again, for all sorts of reasons, but it did amaze me that an hotel of this stature did not provide for vegetarians at breakfast and staff were not even aware of how to meet this need.
Courteous and friendly staff. Situation of the hotel. General 'feel' of the place.
We booked a table for dinner at 7.30pm, ordered soft drinks and a main course. The drinks arrived immediately but at 8.15pm the food still hadn't arrived and no explanation for the delay offered. We were just about to leave the table, when it appeared! Because of this, we didn't order a desert and simply went to the local supermarket and got a fruit pie for £1, which we ate in the car.
Location and quintessential of hotel
Lovely quiet location next to a river Excellent food Helpful staff Characteristic building Homely room
We didn't have much time to explore as only stayed one night
Very friendly staff
Dining room prices were a little high
Brilliant location, had stayed previously and would stay again but in the main building rather than the annex.
This time room was in annex and as mentioned in other reviews the mattresses in our annex room was not great. Seems like no padding over the springs. When complained a staff member came and turned the mattresses over but really need replaced with better quality.
Location is great. Breakfast superb in a lovely room. Had several very nice meals in the hotel.Staff excellent - friendly, eager to please. Main hotel was really lovely, I would stay in the hotel next time instead of the annexe. Killin is a good location to drive around the area
Annexe room was very small and cramped. View from window was a builder's yard.
The menu was very good but would have liked a lighter menu maybe one night. Not everyone enjoys rich food. The manager was very good and he impressed us very much.
The location and setting on the edge of the loch was just lovely. The staff were always happy, attentive and polite. The dining menu was varied and of good standard with breakfast cooked to order so lovely and fresh. There is a brilliant 9 hole golf course just a few minutes away which we played twice. There are all sorts of brown visitor signs in the area and stunning views everywhere. All being well, we will return and stay at this hotel again.
We were unfortunate in that the beds in our room were not up to standard, but due to the Ryder Cup being on the hotel was full, so little could be done. The manager however was full of apologies and did his best to improve what he could.
View from the room was spectacular in a quite beautiful area. Staff were very friendly. We stayed in a twin room which was quite spacious and to a good standard.
Breakfast was not served till 8am so not great for the early birds.
Position of hotel
View from ground floor bedroom window, old electricians van permanently parked. Asked if I could have an omelette, chef said no.
Food was good, staff accommodating
Bed was lumpy, noticeable springs, small room and drapes in serious need of repair
