Score from 196 reviews Very good
Killin Hotel is good value for money. It doesn't have all the mod cons that you would expect of Hotels these days. But it has clean bedrooms and a beautiful cosy bar with a log fire matched with excellent staff. They go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. The Hotel has lovely views and I would stay again. Rita the receptionist is a credit to the Hotel....she is very informative and helped me get all my stuff up the stairs and took me to my room.
The bed was slightly uncomfortable but not something to complain about as I managed to sleep. There was a draft coming from the window which made the room slightly cold. The breakfast in the morning could possibly incorporate more Scottish items like Lorne Sausage and Potato Scone because you're in Scotland after all.
Nice warm cosy bed enjoyed the food
Room38 toilet renovations not complete finishings still to be carried out including fixing toilet seat.
The breakfast was lovely. And the staff were great.
Enjoyed the good food, the views from the dining rooms, the wonderful open fire in the bar
clean rooms all very nice hope to stay again
the room was small but we are a large couple and they are doing work on the hotel so there was a strong smell of paint
The setting, staff, food, location
staff very friendly and welcoming, food very good. because of this I will return despite the not so good bit!
bed was with worn out mattress.
Good price, coal fire in Bar area, good food, all round very good hotel
Great hotel.had lovely king room overlooking the river and was allowed my small dog to stay over.fabulous food...
Food and Service was amazing.
The room we had which was the last room available was very small and the plumbing very noisy as it woke us both up at 6am and continued from there.
Lovely location and very friendly staff. Had a lazy sunday aft in front of the log fire chatting to the owner. Food was excellent especially the evening meal. Lovely and warm and plenty seating available all over the hotel. Would def go back and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to family and friends.
We were in a room over the bar and conservatory and there was a golden wedding party in the hotel on the sat evening and it was a bit noisy in the room but it did stop by 1am
The staff were helpful and the hotel was clean and tidy
On arrival we couldn't find our room (27). We were told at check-in what our room number was and where it was. When we went up the stairs each part had room numbers on the doors leading in to each section. Our room 27 was behind the door that said "rooms 21-25". Not a good start! We paid a little extra to get a king size bed. Two single beds put together, not very good lighting, no dressing table to do make-up, hair etc. Nowhere to put clothes ie drawers. There was a rail with coat hangers but nowhere for underwear etc. There was a two-seater sofa and a large chair. One of these could have been sacrificed for a dressing table. Not a very female friendly room I have to say. The cooked breakfast was a little tired looking. Evening meals were served in the conservatory which would be nice in the summer but it was cold and obviously no view in the evening with it being so dark. There was another room which I feel could have been utilised. The food was ok, bit pricey for what you get.
Excellent breakfast and location. Annex rooms new and smarter than main building.
Carpets not tacked down going into room. Mismatched curtains/decor. Looking a bit tired in the rooms all though clean
Value for money, welcoming atmosphere, excellent location, plus really good beer and food!!
Looking a bit rundown in some areas
Our room was brilliant, dual aspect so alot of natural light. The room was very comfortable (4 poster bed) and the bed was one of the most comfortable we've stayed in. The ensuite looked quite new & the shower was excellent. Ate here both nights and the food was fresh and very tasty. The staff are very friendly and helpful
The wifi isn't great, in fact it's dreadful, although this might depend on where your room's situated. There's an older English speaking waitress who, although friendly, doesn't give you much time to get tea/coffee and cereal before she's hassling you about a cooked breakfast and bringing it out resulting in a not quite warm breakfast
ROOM WAS LOVELY
BED WAS UNCOMFORTABLE, HEATING WOULDNT COME ON AND WIFI WAS POOR
Killin was a fantastic place With some beautiful scenery
Room was far too small for the price Cupboard with no doors Shower was pathetic Room was dated and shabby Breakfast was would never stay here again
Love the location & the food & restaurant is fab..
Would be be better if there was wifi in the rooms.
location friendly staff price
rather cramped car parking room was fair - relatively comfortable, not particularly 'smart' -a bit dated, but o.k.for the price
The staff were unfailingly helpful and friendly. Breakfasts were wonderful with good quality food well cooked. The room was good with a comfortable bed and armchair. Would happily recommend the hotel to anyone.
A couple of very minor niggles, mentioned only because they would be easy to put right. The fixed hairdryer was nowhere near a mirror which makes styling hair whilst drying it difficult. The very good mirror was placed just so you see yourself as you get out of bed, not a sight I enjoy!
A quaint Scottish town on a beautiful river with great waterfalls. Large facility that was clean and comfortable. Breakfast good, dinner good but slow service. Stayed here many years ago and enjoyed returning for a night.
It would have been great to stick around and take advantage of the location because it' s a beautiful area.
Room extremely shabby. We had booked for 3 nights but we only stayed 1, and that was only because it was late when we got there!
The staff and food was excellent. Location was good and would recommend The Killin to anyone looking for a great place to stay in the great country of scotland!!!
Food was good,
Matress springs digging in to back,
