Nice room but no iron, only a communal iron which I e found out too late, couldn't leave my bag the day of check in or the day we checked out, so had to walk around Chester shopping with 2 heavy bags so was exhausted on the 1st day, nicely decorated but a bit expensive for 1 room in that area for a 3 star. Check in 4pm very late and check out 10am is a bit tight
We had the ground floor triple room and it was perfect, spacious and the beds were really comfortable.
We liked it all
Took my girlfriend for a weekend break in chester this hotel was perfect staff were really nice room was excellent definatly stop here again
There's nothing I didn't like everything was excellent
t the room was lovely and spotless staff were really friendly and helpful breakfast was really nice and tasty we all had an enjoyable experience when visiting chester again will definately stay there
my bed was alittle soft but would not class that as a fault each to their own
Rooms were comfortable, stylish and clean. Breakfast had lots of choice and was very good. Good location.
Parking wasn't great - only 3 spaces for hotel.
I found it very restful. All the provisions were to hand. Thankyou for my stay.
Easy to find and close to city centre. Staff were always friendly and helpful. Rooms were quaintly decorated, clean and comforatable. Breakfast service was prompt and made to order with nothing too much trouble.
Parking is limited
This was our first visit to Chester. Kilmory lodge is a good choice to and a convenient short walk in to explore the city. We were made very welcome by our host.
The hotel room was beautifully decorated, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was top notch with good variety. We arrived with two cars and only had a space for one, however it wasn't an issue at all as the street parking was safe and plentiful. The lodge is only a short walk from the city centre so all in all it was the perfect stay
Comfy beds, delicious breakfast
Water pressure in the shower was nonexistent, as was the Wi-Fi coverage, but we didn't enquire about either as to what was causing the problems as we were only there for one night.
Decor is beautiful and a good breakfast
We stayed in the 'luxury' family room which was a reasonable size (probably a squeeze to sleep three people though), the bed was very comfortable, the shower was lovely and big (double size) and the bathroom was spotless. The carpet in the room was thick and luxurious. The telly worked and had a good reception. The coffee in the morning (which you help yourself to) was very nice as was the lady that served us at breakfast.
I was disappointed that on arrival the owner (Jo) didn't know which room we had booked when I gave her my name and then when we got in the room it was freezing because the windows had been left open without any form of heating to warm up the room - not a great start! Myself and my partner also found the owner (Jo) slightly awkward and not particularly warm or welcoming - one of the main reasons we usually prefer to stay in B&B's over hotels which can be a little impersonal. The other thing I wasn't particularly happy with was the towels they had a kind of fusty smell like they had been left for too long before being dried. Breakfast was alright albeit a bit on the stingy side (i.e. x1 rasher of bacon and x1 small sausage and only one half of a grilled tomato!) It certainly wasn't anything special and whilst the lady that served the breakfast was much friendlier than the owner she didn't allow you any time in which to peruse the various cereals etc. on offer before wanting to know if you wanted a 'full english' - maybe I'm being cynical but it felt like they wanted you in and out as quickly as possible (probably so you don't eat too much!). Lastly on our second night I was woken up x3 times during the night by the radiator in either our room (room 4) or the one next door (room 5) it was hard to tell but talk about bang! I was surprised that when I mentioned it to the owner (Jo) that she hadn't heard the noise (and also didn't seem very bothered I might add) that my night had been disturbed meaning that I didn't get my relaxing Sunday morning in bed as I'd hoped before our journey back home. I should point out that Jo did knock some money off for the inconvenience when I asked her to outright (begrudgingly) before proceeding to inform me how 'old houses' like hers do sometimes have this kind of problem! 1.
Location, good food, friendly staff.
Good location, great facilities, friendly and helpful staff.
Good location Nice decor Quiet
My husband and I paid £190 for the 2 nights B&B we just wanted a quite break. Not what I would have rated as 4 * Clean and location was good. Breakfast was unremarkable in fact we skipped the second morning favouring elsewhere . On the first night the room was cold we went to find the owner but there was no one available. We went looking for an Iorn the second night and again no one available! Service was lacking I'm afraid
Excellent breakfast; spacious and comfortable room, friendly proprietor. Easy access for town centre and out into countryside. parking at door
Great place. Good location for zoo trip
Location + very clean staff very friendly .
Lovely, warm welcome from the couple who owned this lodge, nice shower, good location
Squeeky floor boards, metal fixture sticking out ground which we stumped toe on, french doors didn't open onto the garden as described on website
Spacious room Large bathroom Good facilities Free wifi (good signal strength)
Had a quiet peaceful night. Comfortable and clean room. Good shower in morning plus tea. Quiet reading time. Excellent breakfast. Left refreshed. Thankyou.
Bumped head once slightly on a ceiling roof projection because I hadn't spotted its implications. I'm tall. Happy to use that room anytime.
Location is excellent. Couldn't have been better. Very close to Chester Zoo, which was the main purpose of our stay. Parking really convenient, right in front of the house. Friendly welcome. Bathrooms very clean and functioning well. Wifi worked well.
Though we were there for 2 nights, service is okayish (apart from a friendly welcome), not great. Wouldn't put them above a Holiday Inn or even a Premier Inn. Decor though pretty was a bit dated and dusty. Bedside lamps did not function, so at the end of the day when I wanted to read a book in bed, couldn't. Cant say too much about breakfast as we had basic stuff.
Location and friendliness of staff was fantastic.. Lovely stay.
There was nothing that as a family we didn't like.
Comfortable top floor single room; not ensuite but bathroom opposite that 'nobody else uses'. Satisfactory breakfast.
On first arriving, parking necessitated blocking in a van that evidently was owned by workers who were staying there. When I first pointed this out, the response was 'but how will they get out in the morning?' (Though this did beg the question of why they were parked there at 4.00 in the afternoon.) However, another person - who appeared to be part of the management of Kilmorey, appeared and removed his car, allowing me into a space that did not obstruct the van - and, yes, the van was driven away at 8.00 am next day. So that worked out for me but I would be wary about taking a car as the parking is very limited. Also, OK, my room, though not ensuite, was opposite a bathroom but this was not pointed out when I was first shown the room. Finally, although I was asked what time I wanted breakfast, when I went down at 8.30, there was no space. Not a great inconvenience for me as the meeting that I was due to attend was not until 10.30 am. but it could cause problems.
