Very friendly and helpful staff and a good restaurant, but the quality of the furnishings let Kincraig Castle down. For the price we were expecting something a little more luxurious than blankets and hard, pancake-thin pillows - and the plastic flowers are a definite no-no. We were also dismayed to find that despite satellite tv being advertised, we were lucky to get even BBC1 and 2 on our ancient TV (and a fuzzy picture at that). Overall, a bit disappointing for the price.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at Kincraig and cannot fault it. The staff were really friendly from the reception, through to the bar and restaurant. We booked through booking.com at a discount rate which made the stay even better, Room 15 this time, executive room, was lovely, not as big as 17 but just as nice. Ate in the lounge bar in the evening and food was fantastic, very reasonably priced too. A great nights sleep followed by a lovely cooked to order breakfast.

The location was nice and near to my place of business. I had a good sized room and it was clean and comfortable. This is not a Castle and never has been. However it is a very nice grand scottish house of great charm. The food was good but way over priced. Apart from the lady serving in the bar the staff seemed stiff and lacked the friendly touch that makes your stay enjoyable.

Room was the best we have stayed in, and we have stayed in hundreds. Whole Hotel was clean, staff welcoming and friendly. Did say there was a "turn down service" we did not have that, bit disappointed, just adds to the "luxury, pampering" feeling.

The room was nicely presented with free internet service as well as with friut, sweets and tea and coffee facilities. Limited choice from the restaurant menu, so we dined in the bar where there were plenty of dishes to choose from.

Ross-shire is a home from home for us and the Kincraig Castle Hotel is an ideal base for us. The facilities are excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful. At this time of year, the beautiful big open fire is a welcome sight! Highly recommended.

The staff were really lovely, the room was very comfortable and the food was great. For me the best bit was sitting next to a massive stone fireplace with candles burning and a log fire while sipping a decent pint of beer.

Have stayed a number of times, have enjoyed every stay. If there is one thing that I had to mark as outstanding, it is the staff. Attentive and helpful in the extreme.

Interesting property. Would benefit from a 2m or higher fence to screen the derelict and weed littered stables block from view.

Fantastic small hotel with loads of atmosphere. The staff were superb and very polite and friendly. We got a late deal on a superior room (room 21) with views to the front of the hotel towards Cromarty firth. Massive room and very nicely decorated. Bathroom huge and all was very clean with no issues. The bed was very firm - not to our taste as prefer a softer mattress but the room made up for it. We ate in the bar and the food was lovely and served quickly - again the staff were very attentive and friendly. The lounge has a lovely atmosphere with a log fire and comfy sofas and arm chairs to relax in with a whisky or two from the bar. All areas on the hotel were lovely and immaculate. The grounds are lovely too and there is a lot to see in the area up or down the A9. Highly recommended - if you can afford one of the superior rooms on the middle floor they are all lovely - room 21 had a cheaper rate for some reason so we took advantage of the late deal rate so got a bargain. Full Scottish breakfast was also superb and served in a lovely room overlooking the gardens. We loved it so much we are now planning our wedding at Kincraig Castle in 2013. I wish it was nearer to home - we travelled 400 miles visiting relatives but we will be back for our wedding in 2013.

Exactly what we were looking for. Classic upscale castle hotel in the heart of the Scottish highlands. Rooms are beautiful.... Go the extra amount and get the castle rooms. Don't bother going into town for dinner..... you have everything you need for a great feast in the hotels dining room or bar
