Score from 508 reviews Very good
Convenient walking distance into Abingdon and the bus stop for trips into Oxford. Good selection of pubs and restuarants within easy walking distance.
No lighting on access road when returning on foot late evening.
relaxing swim in the private pool
Could only book the pool once for a one hour session out of a three night stay.
Uncomfortable bed, boiler/generator throughout the night.
The location was excellent, as it said 10 mins from Abingdon, great walk and good places to eat!!
This location was great as we were in the middle of the country, yet a short walk from the centre of Abingdon. The barn looks lovely and the staff were helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was good and served in a pleasant cabin next to our room.
The bed was creaky, mattress uncomfortable. The fittings could do with some upgrading too.
ALL ON GROUND FLOOR SPACIOUS SHOWER ROOM VERY DOG FRIENDLY ROOMS WELL KITTED OUT
HAVING TO CHOOSE YOUR BREAKFAST FOR YOUR STAY FROM A LIST PREFERRED TO CHOOSE IN THE MORNING
FRIENDLY STAFF BUT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO SEE THE OWNERS.LIKED THE COURYARD ATMOSPHERE.
ROOM A BIT ON THE SMALL SIDE.VERY HOT SO A FAN WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE.LOOKED FORWARD TO A SWIM ON ARRIVAL BUT UNABLE TO DO SO AS ALL SLOTS WERE BOOKED,DISSAPPOINTING.
The breakfast staff and the fridge and microwave in the room.
The table and chairs very uncomfortable.
Friendly staff Location
Hot stuffy rooms, needs air conditioning or fans. Poor breakfast not helped by lack of staff. Breakfast area hot and poorly ventilated. Not ideal during warm weather. Rooms noisy from 0630 when kitchen staff arrived.
very handy for Abingdon and visiting the surrounding area, good bus links to Oxford
Varnish on doors could do with a bit of cleaning and re-varnishing,the courtyard could do with a lot of weeding
Location, and ability to book the pool. Tasty breakfast cooked to order.
Microwave provided but no plates.
setting in the gardes with your own front door.
Access was single track road with rather too few passing places.
Very convenient for Abingdon.
Was twin/single with microwave and fridge. Fridge good for storing drinks and snacks which I did. Usually stay in hotels so view from hotel room is corridor. View from my cottage was lovely garden. Location perfect, is 10 minute walk into the centre of Abingdon with bars and restaurants. Breakfast very good. Staff really friendly.
Hotels tend to do deals so price changes from day to day. Don't think the holiday cottage does this the price seems fixed so difficult to get good price deals.
Staff were friendly and helpful Good breakfast and pretty surroundings
Location, staff very kind and extremely helpful.
Hearing neighbours doing their ablutions, coughing and wretching and their telly.
Location : close to (without having to use your car) a pleasant town AND to nice walks in the wild and the river Thames, offering varied leisure activities. Lodges and rooms nicely scattered among flowerbeds and outdoor tables and chairs. Quietness.
I thought I could pay by cash (I had exchanged my money for that purpose) and was surprised to receive an invoice the day before departure showing my credit card had already been used.
A nice stay and delicious breakfast, with a friendly atmosphere
Location. Bathrooms and hot water supply. Fabulous breakfast. Helpful staff.
Beds were very uncomfortable - very low quality bed linens - and my son's blow up mattress deflated almost immediately.
Location helpful staff
Sound proofing could here every word from adjoining room
Staff were very friendly and helpful, couldn't be faulted
Could not fault anything
A surprise welcome pack for the dog! Very close to Abingdon and walks along the River Thames. We are already planning next year's visit.
Comfortable room in very pleasant surroundings. Convenient location for visiting Oxford, approx. 15min drive from Seacourt park-and-ride, and much cheaper than any alternatives we could find in the city itself. Although we arrived after the reception closing time, we only had to wait for a few minutes after calling and the lady was very nice and helpful.
Location is excellent.
Beds were awful. Breakfast was budget and they cut corners everywhere.. Cheap sausage, stork and no butter, just really budget, plastic table cloth.... Shame as could be amazing with a bit of thought.
The facilities were run down and in need of repair. Security very poor as when returned after morning out we found cleaners key in our door. Definitely not worth the money they were charging especially when we compared it to all the B&B in UK that were much less money.
