Friendly staff and great dinner and breakfast. Very near motorway making it a great place to stop on trip south or north.
After a day behind the wheel and a business meeting, you need a warm welcome and a comfortable room. The Kings Arms delivered.
Very friendly atmosphere as soon as arriving. Very good food.
Excellent atmosphere. A pub with real people in it and that sells food you can eat, rather than just toy with.
The plaster holding the batteries into the TV remote. I suggest a trip to eBay for a cover and maybe evens batteries!
food was . Staff were very freindly and helpfull. Excellent value for money
Warm welcome. good food.
Didn't pick up on the specials menu, but we should have asked.
Friendly , welcoming , good food , comfortable rooms. very pet friendly , excellent choice of ales.
The owners were really friendly, very welcoming, the beer was perfect and the fry up in the morning delicious. What more could you want?
This pub is full of character with friendly and welcoming staff. The accommodation is very comfortable and is quiet even though above a pub. The food is outstanding and from local sources wherever possible. The breakfast was the best we've had in a long time. We had dinner here too. It is very convenient as a stopping place on a long journey north or south. Stopped for a night on way back from Scotland. Looking forward to returning next year.
Good meals and ambience
We've stayed here before so it was great to return and find Neil was still the landlord. The food here is locally sourced and of excellent value. Great to chat over breakfast. Easy atmosphere and great for us to be able to have our dog with us.
Very little not to like really. The room this time meant the shower facility was a bit tight for space but manageable.
Staff very friendly and welcoming both to us humans and our pooch. Food was really nice, evening meal and a fab cooked breakfast. Within easy reach of Kendal.
Our room and the ensuite was small and wasn't very nice.. Needs updating and freshening up.
Friendly welcome when we arrived late and nothing was too much trouble throughout our stay
Quiet and comfortable
food was excellent and also the service
room was very small and shower room was even smaller
Friendly atmosphere with very helpful landlord. Good bar and good parking arrangements
Restaurant service in evening was average and although had a good wide ranging menu, we must have made a poor selection - our meals were average, took a long time to come (55minutes), cold plates but food was hot to start with. Breakfast was excellent.
We liked our bedroom and comfy 4 poster bed. We had a kettle, with tea bags, coffee, milk, hot chocolate and cookies. The wifi worked well and was free. The included breakfast was terrific - the full English included a huge sausage, 2 rashers, an egg, tomato, mushrooms, baked beans and fried bread! Juice, cereals, yogurts, toast and jam/marmalades were also provided. We had our evening meal there both nights - the food was typical pub- grub, well cooked, well presented and plenty of it.
The duvet on the bed was very thick and the room was warm. The second night we took the duvet out of the cover and just used the cover. It was unseasonably warm weather when we there.
Friendly welcome Comfortable pub Delicious food Very comfortable bed Generous and delicious breakfast
Lovely welcoming hotel in beautiful village. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was first class with local produce being used wherever possible and all freshly cooked to order. We would definitely return when in the area. Highly recommended.
There was nothing to dislike about this hotel
Staff helpful, food excellent, good choice, nice country pub good for getting to other locations.
Friendly landlord, great breakfast, welcoming & homely, interesting dining room, handy for M6 which was behind nearby hill so quiet.
Friendly Staff and good food
Can't say there was anything.
Great owner who loves his job. Friendly welcome. Dog was no problem. Not highest comfort but hospitality at its best!
Food was expensive Had to request tea bags and milk in room
After a long drive from the south west, this was a really comfy and friendly place to relax. We chose to have dinner in the pub which was yummy! Bedroom was very cosy and was really wonderful to awake up to a seriously tasty breakfast! We will be visiting again!!! Great value for money too.
