Very central and clean
Helpful, friendly, polite staff at all levels. Easy parking a big plus too. Breakfast excellent
1. Expensive for facilities. 2 .Room although in many ways good size and well equipped had no drawers for storing clothes 3. The door into bathroom had a horrible sqeek which must have been obvious. We fixed it in pono time with some medical ointment but should not have been necessary 4 on arrival two 90 year old guests not offered help with bags.
Easy to book
The traffic in the road outside
Breakfast Size of room
Creaky unlevel floors Noisy road outside Noisy residents TV not working Large bathroom but no shower
Location was good, staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was large and clean with lovely bathroom. Service was excellent.
Didn't have our booking, even though we had confirmation email from Hotel (made main booking through Booking.com which they had but then added 2 extra single rooms direct which they didn't have). Had no hot water from evening through to following morning but gave us 10% discount from our bill (we had to ask for it though!).
Meal portions very generous. Local beer on tap.
Bathroom very small in our room.
friendly and helpfull staff
This hotel is well situated and provides a comfortable place to stay in Dorchester. The room we had was clean and well appointed . The staff are helpful and attentive. The breakfast was good but we would not recommend the bistro. The food was mundane and as there was an event on we had a long wait. Apart from this a good choice of hotel. The Italian restaurant on trinity street was very good value and the fish excellent.
As we mentioned the bistro. Breakfast very good but evening meal poor. Staff there are very attentive however.
It was very friendly and the facilities were good.
Locatie, bar & breakfast. The back of the hotel is quiet, especially compared to the front of the hotel
Moldy and smelling bathroom
Easy hotel parking. Good breakfast.
Tea was cold at breakfast
Breakfast was excellent. Staff friendly and attentive.
Position of Hotel was very convenient. Our room 112 was spacious and clean. We have re-booked with you for a break in June, but unfortunately this room was unavailable.
Decent comfy beds. Complimentary bottle of water and having tea and coffee machine. Great cooked breakfast
Window rattled when you walked
Friendly welcome Good food
Map of town at reception would be useful for directing people
Location ROOM QUITE GOOD
EXPENSIVE BAR VERY BUSY PUBLIC AREAS
The staff were very helpful
The mattress felt like a block of concrete
Staff really helpful and couldn't fault the service. They even set us up a table for two in a quiet area as there was a wedding party in the bar that night!
Most of it
This was our third time staying her and we were not disappointed with the facilities, location or service. although I must say that the reception staff did seem a bit disinterested upon our arrival. the hotel is great for getting into town, a well as traveling to other places of interest. There was live entertainment on Friday night which provided a really good atmosphere. The bar staff and breakfast staff could not have been more helpful, and we will gladly come back again.
noisy fan in bathroom which can be turned off, and the room did seem a bit cramped.
The hotel reflects its history whilst maintaining good modern standards. At all times the staff were helpful friendly and attentive in particular the young bar manager who went out of his way to explain things and even tried to track down locally some Dorset ice cream I had tasted on the Isle of Portland! Particularly liked the fact that locally sourced produce was served and local beers were being introduced Large comfortable room and bed. Excellent location to explore Thomas Hardy links.
Having to leave at the end of our stay!
The rooms, the decor, the bar and restaurant. The parking. Staff helpful.
Shame about the seagulls squawking in the early hours but such is the case with towns not too far from the coast.
Breakfast v good at £7.50 Staff willing to change room to 1st floor for us, as stairs were awkward to 3rd. Noisy guests above us Sat night at 4am!
Constructive suggestion. Signs to Disabled Exit from inside Hotel would have been useful.
Very welcoming, efficient check in and out, v good food
No view from one room
Loved the size of the rooms and the style of them. The bar was cosy and car park spacious and ideal
The breakfast staff who served us over the 2 nights was very rude and the tables could have been a bit more spaced out in the bar.
