Convenient Dorchester is a huge disappointment of a town. A dump would be a kind description. The town centre has little to offer and it spectacularly fails to make the best of itself

The location in relation to my family we visited. Now our 3rd visit to Kings Arms. Having booked through Booking .com previously I felt that due to substantial price inceases in a weekend booking this time there was really nothing to gain by going through yourselves to book up?If it continues I might have to seek an alternative hotel.

I liked the olde worldly atmosphere. The central location in the town was ideal, as was the car park for residents. The double room was spacious. Breakfasts were fabulous.

The old world atmosphere and the fact it had a secure car park. Most of all, the breakfast. I didn't think it was particularly good value at £100 per night. Our room was also very small.

The friendly staff, warmth of the hotel. The ability to manage own heating level in the room. The choice for breakfast was excellent. No shelf space in the en-suite to place toiletries etc. These had to be placed on the floor

Friendly, helpful staff. Lovely room - very spacious and the most comfortable bed I've ever had in a hotel. Good size car park. Very central. Breakfast was a little disappointing - not cooked to the standard I expected from this otherwise excellent hotel and coffee only barely warm.

On our way through to Dartmoor, so was most impressed with everything. All the staff were extremely helpful. The room was fantastic (113) and the breakfast was the most selection we have ever been offered. The price was also very reasonable for what you were given. Well done Best Western shall recommend your hotel and also the one in Eastbourne and Moretonhampstead.

We were really impressed that the hotel manager (Steve) took the time to sit down and talk to us when we were in the bar on our first evening, and after that asked us how we were every time we saw him. He also provided some really good advice on local restaurants. The room (106) was spacious, comfortable and quiet. We would certainly consider going back as it is a good base for seeing Dorchester and the surrounding Dorset countryside and coast.

The staff were very welcoming, especially the hotel manager who greeted us upon our arrival and reassured us that they were aware of our special dietary needs and that we would be looked after. The hotel was in a great location, central to the town so it was a good choice for visiting near by sights and attractions. Breakfast was excellent one of the best we ever had in a hotel, the staff were extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble and the food was plentiful with lots of variety and choice. we would definitely stay again. The bathroom extractor fan took a long while to go off once the light was switched off, which made it difficult to sleep at night
