The location was lovely, bed was very comfortable.Welcoming and attentive staff.Pub food was outstanding.

Bathroom a little dated and shared between three double rooms but pricing reflected this.Unclear on booking.coms description about shared shower arrangement. We would definitely return as a great place to stay overall.

Beautiful hotel with excellent facilities. Our suite was perfect for the whole family. The bar staff were friendly and helpful and made us feel at home.

Cooked breakfast would be great as only continental offered for £10 each.

Dog friendly, good staff, good food

We were lucky that no one was in the next room as they would have had to share our bathroom!

The room itself was spacious and comfortable. It looked out onto a little patio and garden. The location was between Wells and Glastonbury, so good for touring the countryside. The towels were big and absorbent.

Our rooms were not made up each day, despite us mentioning it to the staff. The staff seemed inexperienced (and in fact had only been there 2-3 weeks). The wi-fi was very unreliable. There was no tub, only a shower which was a bit small and uncomfortable. One of the bathrobes provided looked dirty. The doorstop was a ridiculous splinter of wood. The parking was confusing for staying overnight.

Excellent service and very good food. Exceedingly helpful over an early Sunday start and providing picnic breakfast of bacon sandwiches. Lovely ambience and characterful old pub with modern facilities.

A very busy Saturday evening at peak time put a little pressure on the kitchen. But this was forewarned at the time of booking a table and excellently handled, in fact, it made our meal more enjoyable by spacing out the generous courses of very good food.

The main restaurant and bar area were very welcoming. Staff were also helpful.

I will admit that when I booked I did not realise we were sharing a shower room with two other bedrooms. However, staff did not tell us where this shared room was. Shower room was not as clean as I would have hoped. Only French doors in bedroom which we had to open to get some air in. Noise from night deliveries were annoying. Also as we opened the curtains on the first morning we found a frog in the room. We ushered it our of the doors and closed them. However, after breakfast we found it back in the room so there was clearly another entrance for it. For these reasons we only stayed one night rather than two.

    The food was great

The shared bathroom was so mouldy it was a health hazard, there were stains on the luxury bath robes, the bedroom was dusty and had not been used in a while, very disappointing, was very upset it was a romantic break for my partner and myself, we have both come home with colds , probably from the damp room.

The staff were very attentive and courteous, The Tavern not only afforded fine ales and wine but served an excellent meal. Breakfast was served to order, they even brought my daughter a pastry with a candle for her birthday. Rooms while located in the original buildings but had been renovated with modern ammenities king size beds and modern toilet facilities. While our stay only lasted one night if our plans had allowed we would have stayed longer.

The staff were lovely and the food was great.

As the managers are fairly new there were a few tiny niggles in our room that I am sure will be rectified in the near future.

Beautiful large bed. Quiet scenic location.

No meet & greet so left wondering what to do/where to go. No info given regarding breakfast arrangements. Several mix-ups over meal, resulting in left feeling hungry and resentful as quite pricey. Room a bit damp and would benefit from a deep clean. Over-charged upon leaving.

Polite staff, characterful main building, good food. Bedroom well appointed.

Bathroom shared by 3 rooms. Bathroom very basic - shower, toilet and basin only, cramped and shabby - out of character with rest of premises. Basin plug did not work.

The design of the rooms. The food. The friendliness of the staff. The location.

The rooms weren't spotless. The staff weren't professionally managed or trained and were over-worked.

Friendly staff on arrival and departure.. Lovely location. Very good dinner. (Attention to detail - I had to ask for a knife and fork). Comfortable bed. Good towels.

My fault that I assumed this room came with an ensuite shower or bath but wc and shower was at the end of the corridor. Shower unit broken so water pressure not good. No window in room so no fresh air. French doors (dirty) could not be left open during the night for security reasons. Pillows are not good standard. Robes should be cotton not synthetic. Breakfast was not included for £80 in small double. Someone knocked on our door twice) after we had gone to bed to ask about us booking breakfast? I should have asked for a small jug of fresh milk as powdered milk in room was grim/unacceptable. Unfortunately the couple above us went to the loo at least a dozen times and "pulled the chain" at every visit and therefore we did not get a good night's sleep. Green light on ceiling in my eyes. We had driven a long way from Surrey and this was our first visit to Somerset. Very disappointed I'm afraid.
