The location and the host. And the breakfast.
Admittedly it was early December and I was the only guest on the night, but the storage heater in the bedroom wasn't very effective and I definitely needed a banker on the bed. Also no bedside lamp in bedroom.
Friendly and welcoming. Was able to book for Saturday night only which was not the case for accomodation in Edale. Good location for walking up Kinderscout. "Little Mill" pub within walking distance. Excellent breakfast.
Would have benefitted from a better shower.
The view outside, and the quiet night, I love the place
I'd better drive here next time QAQ
we had an enjoyable stay here. the service was good. the bedrooms were lovely. the breakfast was lovely. we would certainaly go there again
all was fine when we finally found the place
very difficult to locate this farm - even with local directions we took ages to locate the place
No Wi-Fi No heating till 11 pm Check-in time at 4 pm and checkout at 11 am Cash payments; no ATM / debit card reader for payment
Peaceful location and great scenery, just a shame the windows were so dirty! Rooms and bedding all clean Easy to find (get directions from Google maps)
This place could be wonderful if it were brought into the 21st century! It does look rather depressing when you arrive at the property and see broken windows (basement). Criticisms are intended to be constructive. Damp smell - need more air in the place Windows were filthy and didn't open enough Poor quality breakfast ingredients - would have expected decent local produce and not Aldi's cheapest! Shared bathroom (should have seen this on the booking info, but there is room for an en suite) Beds and pillows too hard. Very uncomfortable. Lack of current local information. Given that there is no internet or phone signal, more leaflets and information could be made available. Unsure of the relevance of a visit Devon brochure (also out of date). Parking not the best. Bit of a squeeze which caused problems for disabled visitor. Gravelling the soft verge outside would offer more space. Shower extremely noisy.
Location near Kinder
Very friendly, and a lovely, and quiet area. Superb breakfast, just as ordered. Owner couldn't have been nicer.
Mattress VERY uncomfortable -- visibly lopsided and uneven, before lying on it, actually -- both of us had aching backs most of the night, trying to sleep, as well as the following day. Carpet was uneven (not tight on the floor -- bunched up in several areas), almost tripped and fell during night especially. Sloping floor in bathroom made night time visit to bathroom a bit wary as well. We understand it's a very old house, but it is not recommended for older folks at all!
Quiet location, very pretty area.
The farm was in a beautiful location and the owner was very friendly and helpful. There were nice walks from the B&B and it was in the middle of nowhere so very quiet.
It was a nightmare to find, we went to the wrong farm (Kings Clough Farm is near by). It would be good if there were a couple of signs to the B&B.
The beautiful setting, lovely old farmhouse, pleasant host, log fire on a chilly evening.
Thanks for the comfortable stay. Great location, easy excess.
Location, owner, comfort
Very large single room, good breakfasts and Terry was a thoroughly good host. Thanks
Friendly attitude Sharing table with other guests
Night heating only
The location was great for Ramblers or just getting away from the noise of the city. The owner was friendly and chatty.
No one was there to greet us on arrival, waited in the rain for 30 mins before going off and getting lunch to get out of the rain. The accommodation had No WiFi which annoyed my youngest son. The T.V. in the bedrrom did not work. The rooms were very cold and the heating did not come on until 23.00 hrs on ecconomy 7, my wife had to sleep in extra clothing and with 3 extra blankets to get to sleep. Breakfast was ok. Could not pay by Debit or credit card. Lastly directions to get to the farm led me down a road which fed into a path then into a footpath too narrow for motor vehicles, I then had to reverse approx 1/4 mile back to the road.
Quiet rural location, good views, good walks, yet not to far from the pub and the town. Good hospitality and good breakfasts.
It was away from the crowd - nice countryside views and very quiet around. Nice breakfast and also Terry was very helpful in guiding me for places to see and for food. A very pleasant stay. Recommended for those who like to be away from the crowds. Do plan well in case coming by public transport. I was on my bicycle so was not bothered. A steep incline from Glossop station should be considered :)
Lovely surrounding area!
Not everything in breakfast is fresh.
Terry our host was very helpful and informative, excellent food and location
