Very friendly staff
Tiny rooms Poor cleanliness Basic facilities
They had a computer in the lobby, a tv in the room, they serve food
The place was dirty, unclean, 2 showers available for the entire building of 30+ people. They gave us 1 tiny bar of soap to last the week. No room svc or new clean towels or sheets for the entire week. While we stayed there several people complained about their stay and the staff did nothing to compensate them other than an "I'm sorry, there's nothing that we can do!" Part of the main reason I booked this hotel was because they advertised offering free wifi. Much to my surprise I did not have any wifi access which caused a huge problem during my stay. I was able to use the computer in the lobby which helped some. The facility was very dirty and there was a pool of urine around the guest tolite which I stepped in accidentally. They claim to offer breakfast which consists of undercooked eggs and a slice of toast which Made my mother sick. My son's bed was broken and could have easily collapsed and when I requested more soap they told me to go in the bathroom in the lobby and grab some used ones. Horrible experience and I keep wishing this was all a bad dream that I will wake up from soon.
The place was full with bed bugs (Cimex lectularius). They pinched us really badly, and after that, for three weeks our skin looked like we had sheeppox and it really itched too. After the trip we had to check all our clothes, stuff, and everything to be sure none of these disgusting creatures were carried home. The bathroom was also a big mess. Dirty, stinky, disgusting. Az ágyunk tele volt ágyi poloskával, amik szétcsíptek minket. Úgy néztünk ki utána három hétig, mintha bárányhimlősök lennénk. Rendkívül viszketett a csípések helye. Az összes ruhánkat, és cuccunkat át kellet vizsgálni a hazautazáskor, nehogy hazahozzunk a bogarakból egyet is. A fürdőszobák gusztustalanok voltak, mocskosak és büdösek.
I liked the location and the staff was friendly. The woman (the staff) from the Hotel asked me about The Shoe's performance where i went to and she wanted to know about some songs from that band. Something iwill alway remember.
Small breakfast in the morning and a free Wi-Fi is always appreciated. The location might be very much outside of London, but I found it very good as the sound level on the streets outside were lower, it isn't very busy there all the time and as I am very used to the bus and tube system I didn't have any problem with the connection to the more "attractive" parts of London.
Too small beds. As I stayed with my sister and we shared a 120 cm bed it got a bit crowded, but I guess as a couple it would be ok. In the room description it said there would also be some kind of desk in the room, but the small shelf that was in there I can hardly call a desk.
We loved the little touches that made our stay special, the staff were excellent and made us feel like we mattered
We liked everything
It was placed closer the Olympic park than what the internet made out
The internet was poor.
Couldn't pay by card in the hotel. The receptionist called another hotel and transfered my debit card details which is not a nice feeling. The room was dirty, no toilet paper, window broken, bed uncomfy. Was cheap but wouldn't recommend a stay. I had nicer youth hostels for half the price.
I can't think of anything I like.
Poor service. Bed was broken but not fix. Room was not clean and it smells of dirt.generally poor service
Customer service was very good and polite. Communal fridge for everyone to use and free tea/coffee is great as well. Clean bedsheets. Price per night is great.
CLEANINGNESS of the place is appauling rooms and even more bathrooms. After using bathrooms you don't feel clean at all. I am not person who is fussy, but that was just too much. Which is an absolute shame as the place real potencial. Rooms were dirty in every possible corner, like floors were not washed for weeks. Unfortunately even though price per night is good, it's still too much for the conditions you stay in.
location is not bad
extra charge even for a debit card. The price was only for cash pay but this never been stated in the booking site.
personnel was very helpful, clean sheats, common toilet/douche was kept as clean as possible, if you take into account everybody shares these facilities.
no airco while it was bloody hot weather but for the price you pay you can not claim everything ! The noise from the street but that is something the hotel can not do anything about ! Earplugs can help !
Price of staying there is quite low. The guys on reception desk were really friendly and helpful.
You can pay only by cash. WC and bathroom are on the floor.
I stayed in the Kings Head Guest house from 14th-18th July 2014. After reading some of the reviews on this website I really did not want to go and stay there- however upon my arrival I was given a warm welcome be staff who were continuously kind and helpful throughout my stay- my room was basic but for the price I paid I got what I paid for- the decor was slightly dated and the rooms could use some fixing up but again I got what I paid for- our room and bed sheets were clean and although we had a shared bathroom there was always toilet roll and soap. I can honestly say that I have no complaints from my stay at the kings head guest house it was cheap and affordable for my budget and I had a good nights sleep after long days out and about in London. I would stay there again.
Poor wifi connection Easy access to Central London however I would have preferred to have been closer.
staff were very pleasant good location for getting in to london olympic village and westfield shopping centre not far
bed was a bit uncomfortable but put up with it and right by a church which chimes every 15 minutes of the day or night
Very helpful and cheerful staff - they were always there if we needed anything. You can make yourself tea in the lobby of the hotel. The bathrooms are clean.
There was a chewed gum on top pf coffee table in my room when we checked in. Apparently somebody did not cleen the room well enough before we came. The WiFi on the 3rd floor was very poor. They had issues with our reservation so we ended up in a different room than we were promissed.
- relatively cheap Mini market next to the building - good Wifi reception on first floor - friendly staff
- the common bathroom was always wet on the floor and sometimes there was no toilet paper
Value for money Friendly and helpful staff Convenient location
Bathroom facilities were a bit of an issue such as no sink plug and leaking sink in one of the rooms.
Staff was fiendly, cheap and close to ExCel and train
Rooms were either cold or too hot
The bed sheets came if easily to reveal a disgusting mattress. Stains all over the walls. Bad wifi quality
The only good thing of this place was the free wi-fi connection (and just when it worked). 10 minutes away walking from Stratford station
AVOID this place if possible. The value is not bad (when comparing to other hotels in London) BUT: room is so tiny you can barely move inside; our bed was broken so we kept rolling to the right, linen had BEDBUGS on it (yes, you've read it right, bedbugs!!) and the bathroom ensuite was almost inexistent: just a broken toilet and a shower with no hot water.
Ten minute walk to Stratford Tube Station. Approx Twenty minute walk to Olympic Park. Westfield shops 10-15min walk. Staff was helpfull.
Booked Single room and found cobwebs all over ceiling and walls. Cleanliness was very poor. Paintwork desperately required. Broken window handle. Basic small room, no hand wash basin or toilet in room. You have to share public toilets which has a grubby shower unit! Found it hard to sleep as room was on ground floor next to reception desk. Phone ringing and people talking kept me awake. All you get is a bed, small TV, small old cupboard by bed, three hangers(hooks) screwed to wall. Will only book here again if desperate! Wouldn't bring my wife here.
The shared bathroom even though it was very clean I would still prefer my own.
Bathrooms were appalling. Toilets unusable and got bit to death from bed bugs won't be going there again
Very close to Stratford Centre with regular bus links. You can either walk to Stratford or take a 2 minute bus ride.
My bed had most of the wooden slats underneath missing. This caused the mattress to be uneven and I fell through while I was moving in my sleep. There is no food available at the guest house, not even continental breakfast or any snack vending machines, however there are a few shops and take aways opposite and adjacent to the guest house.
