Excellent staff - really helpful and courteous all the time. They seem like an intelligent and motivated team. The location is great, although it can get a little noisy on the square. Nice, good sized room, just right for what we needed. Excellent selection at breakfast (everything from Yogurt to Muffins, pastries, cereal, fruit and the usual fry-up) and good value evening meals.
The room was too hot (other people seemed to have the same problem whilst we were there) but we resolved this by opening the window during the day, but appropriate heating settings would be even better, The hotel's central location means there's a lot of street noise on weekend nights. The double glazing helps with this.
Homely atmosphere Helpful staff Breakfast Room
We loved the location and the hotel was so comfortable and the food served was excellent, both in quality and value. Will stay there again with no hesitation.
Position great, free parking big plus and included breakfast very good. Comfortable but bit too cosy - had to open window to cool off!
Room was over recycling bins so view was poor, plus was noisy not only due to staff/patrons but huge extractor fan which started up about 6.30 am right outdid window. Know it's an old building but the floors were just too creaky.
The breakfast was good and we were served by a lovely waitress.
The creaky floorboards, but it was to be expected in a building such as this! It wouldn't stop us from using the hotel again, though.
Very friendly staff and the restaurant provided excellent food
Central location - close to Tivoli where we were going. Evening meal and breakfast were good. Staff very helpful and polite.
Church bells chiming on the 1/4 though my wife loved it.
everything could not fault this hotel on anything staff food room furnishings had a very warm hospitable atmosphere wish i could have stayed longer
Staff were really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Lovely hotel in a excellent location.
friendly & helpfull staff assistant manager chris made us feel very welcome meals were very good
car park was a problem. we noticed a couple parking to go shopping this took up the only space left for hotel guests
The staff were very friendly & helpful. The room was spacious., although the bathroom was very dated. Food was fine, the breakfasts had a very good buffet selection with a wide range of cooked alternatives.
The sash window in the bedroom would not stay open & it would have been nice to have had a little fresh air if only for a while. Our only complaint really.
The beds were very very comfortable, there was everything needed in the room. Breakfast was very good and the staff were politely accommodating for all our needs. we were pleased with the onsite parking.
The rooms were very very hot and we were unable to turn down the heating in the bathroom so had to keep the door closed. We were told not to leave the windows open too far as pigeons would fly in! The rooms at the front of the building overlooked the high street and were exceptionally noisy the night we stayed.
The hotels location, easy access the the town and it;s facilities. The friendliness of the staff.
The single beds are to small
The hotel is lovely.Old and characteristic and in a lovely location right in the square of Wimborne. We have known it for many years and eaten in there on quite a few occasions with family etc, which has always been very enjoyable...hence wanting to stay a night to enjoy that too after a show at the Tivoli Theatre. We enjoyed our room, although it was not what we had been promised, i.e. smaller and on the side with a normal bed... but it was very nice and comfortable nonetheless. The bathroom was very clean which we liked. The breakfast was very good, nice hot food and buffet bit, and the eating areas are nicely arranged in different little parts. The waiting staff were all very pleasant and helpful. A very enjoyable stay in a super hotel.
The receptionist's attitude was very brash and just plain rude when she told us we did not have the type of bedroom we had asked for months ago when we had booked it and that was that basically!! Despite the early booking and several further requests and a discussion with Adam the Manager a couple of days before our visit confirming that we would definitely have it. She was annoyed at our asking and very unprofessional in dealing with it, which we have never experienced before in the many different type of hotels that we have stayed in. Shame as this let the King's Head down on that part of it. Also, the website should be updated to show that the rooms have been refurbished but the hotel does not have any four poster beds and only one sleigh bed available, which is not shown on the description whilst writing this.
Location,staff,accommodation & food when available.
First visit 19/10 asked for a mixed grill to be saved for my second visit 29/10/14,arrived booked a table went to order my mixed grill told had run out of ingredients on & had not been told of my request on my first visit even in todays computer generated ways of communicating. However meal I did have was excellant
Location was fab as so were most of the staff but one night porter was very rude
We had checked if we could previously purchase wine from the hotel as we were meeting friends and may be back later than the bar was open, we were told that was fine as long as we bought it from the hotel as we did and then the night porter disagreed and almost told us we were lying, we are mature people and thought it was polite to check first but he then proceeded to tell us the HOTEL was an INN and had different rules, I did call the manager and request a call back but still waiting!!!
Location Staff Breakfast
Great atmosphere inand around The bar restaurant area. What a really pleasing refurbishment they have done.
Cozy room, comfortable bed.
Shower not easy to control
Clean room with good facilities.
No veggie option for full English breakfast other than everything without the meat. One of the veggie dishes unavailable for dinner leaving very little choice.
Staff, location, food & quality & value for money.

someone put note on car saying that car park is not shoppers yet we were residents staying at the hotel and had given them our vehicle registration number. This was the only thing -everything else was good
Breakfast cooked to order. Comfortable beds with quality bed linen. central location but very quiet room!
Very friendly staff Good location for a base to see the surrounding area. Good breakfast.
