Set against the striking Perthshire scenery, family-run Kings House Hotel offers comfortable and welcoming accommodations with breakfast included, in the beautiful Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. All of the bedrooms have private bathrooms and are furnished in a homey cottage style. Some rooms have luxurious four-poster beds. The dining room serves a traditional Scottish menu in a cozy environment, with a fireplace and log fires. Sample Scotland's famous malt whiskeys in the King James Bar or Rob Roy Bar. Kings House is a charming and historic hotel, built on the site of a royal hunting lodge. The hotel is in Balquhidder, on the Rob Roy Way - not the West Highland Way. We had a great overnight stay here, Our room was clean, roomy and nice and warm. It was lovely to have a bath for a change as you usually only get showers. It was very close to Rob Roys grave and the scenery was fantastic. We stayed here on a journey back down from Lochness on our way to Loch Lomond. There is a small bar attached to the hotel with an open fire. Our meal on the evening was delicious and it was a relaxed atmosphere. The breakfast was great with a choice of everything you could want. The owners were friendly and helpful and had time to tell us about the area. We had a wonderful stay.

The staff were lovely, helpful and welcoming. Nothing was a bother, we never came down for breakfast as felt it was too early for the change o clocks jumping forward and it was Sunday morning. We came down to check out as had to leave early a day early to drive home as our pet sitter had let us down. We were offered breakfast and was not charged for the 2nd night we had booked. Very homely feel to place. The home made chips was a treat and beer-batter light and a delight. From outside the place looked a bit tired,...however, once in our room the booklet explained its long and vibrant live, real Scottish history backed up with photos framed on the walls in the halls. The shower was great, kept hot throughout. Huge thank you for helping making our stay and us feel special on our 25 silver anniversary. Would defo re visit if back down your way :D The first thing we smelt was the dogs.

We actually ended up in one of the cottages which sit in the grounds of the hotel due to booking.com overbooking the hotel. The cottage was lovely and the couple who run the hotel were very friendly and helpful. My husband and I had went for an overnight break and had a lovely relaxing time. We were made very welcome and spent a great evening in the Rob Roy bar eating, drinking and chatting to other guests, locals and visitors to the area. I would recommend this hotel and will certainly return soon.

A very good room; but then I was given a bigger room than I had booked! The hotel is very well located for cycling the route between Callander and Killin - well unless you are fit tenough to do the whole thing in one day from end to end! (It is about half way along).

The information booklet was good eg walking, sightseeing, books by local people, information about local things to do, emergencies, etc. The temperature in the rooms was very hot and you couldn't turn the temperature down.

Booked by mistake thinking it was the kings house near glen coe, felt it wasn't clear on the website and apparently they trade on quite a few people making the same mistake. A shabby little hotel, poor location next to a main road, no views.just a terrible experience

The evening meal was good although we were the only people staying at the hotel and the only people in the hotel that evening. The bedroom had old and tatty furnishings. The shower curtain was dirty and neither of us could bring ourselves, therefore, to use the shower.
