Just one mile from central Durham and the Train Station, the Radisson BLU Durham has fantastic views of Durham Cathedral. It offers stylish rooms, free Wi-Fi, a restaurant, bar and modern health club....
Score from 1004 reviews Excellent
Breakfast Room very clean and well presented Bar area nice
Shower above bath was barely a trickle
Location is good and good walking distance to town! Good size rooms.
Good Location, clean and comfortable rooms, nicely furnished. Staff extremely helpful with directions, booking taxi's, location advice and providing map of Durham. Free WI-FI. "Winter Special" pay in cash and get £5 off per person, so we paid £68 for one night. In August we stayed in Harrogate for £135 per night, so twice the money and the facilities were very poor in comparison.
no complaints what so ever! :-)
Staff were amazing and lounge facility really helped. Breakfast was great.
Mattress needs replacing. Very sunken. Daughter had a v hard single bed with springa in her back. Not good.
Setting. Proximity to city centre, restaurant, staff courtesy, bathroom facilities
Room was a little cramped, lounge only open till 7pm,
Cleanliness of the Hotel. The location of the hotel, 5 min's walk to the town. Secure private parking giving peace of mind whilst out and about. Excellent realistically priced eating places all within easy walking distance of the Hotel.
Not a lot do dislike about the place really. I would have liked to have had a couple of pints of reasonably priced good beer back at the Hotel before going to bed but there was none available, not a problem though as we wined and dined nearby.
Location, solid building, no squeaky floors, quiet place, clean, hot shower, fairly modern amenities. Great to have a restaurant with the hotel for late dinner/supper. The Receptionist short-changed me but then remembered and left the change in an envelope when I checked out later in the day. Very honest! Thank you!
I stayed in Room 17, single bed. The mattress was terrible! Unfortunately, lack of sleep affected my stay at the Hotel. Would have preferred a comfortable bed above all else.
It was clean.
It's a small, modest old-fashioned hotel that's overpriced.
Lovely location Super breakfat
Pillows slightly too soft
Very clean and comfortable. Good bar and restaurant.
Nothing to complain
Excellent service thru out our stay highly recomended
Very expensive bar prices beware!!
The room was friendly and bright. The cleanness was very excellent. The staff was always very kind and still of assistance. The location was close to the city center to reach it by a 10-15 min. walk.
The plates for the toast were definitely to small. Unfortunately there was building site near the hotel, so we had to get up earlier as expected. But this should be temporary and it looked like close to completion.
The place has character and the staff is highly experience with all kind of guests. Rooms are well equiped for travellers needs. Food is core in this place too. Only had breakfast this time but will have dinner when I return in the summer with friends.
Clean, comfortable and really friendly and helpful staff.
Nothing to dislike..
Location of hotel in walking distance of Durham centre.room was very clean and spacious.we had room at back of hotel overlooking woodland.breakfast was excellent and was cooked to order.friendly and welcoming staff, nothing was too much trouble. Nice toiletries were in the bathroom. Enjoyed our stay, would definitely stay here again.
Not a criticism, but hotel was very warm, even when we turned radiator off in our room!
comfy bed, and quiet night. Very important. Good scrambled-eggs at breakfast, a bonus. Very nice to have a little woodland behind the hotel to walk through in the morning too, before going into town centre.
Shower a little cramped, but OK.
Good food, pub, service, clean, quite and conducive environment.
Twin rooms have rather smaller beds making them uncomfortable
Nice ambience, building and location.
Single bed was uncomfortable, so didn't sleep well.
Very clean which was much appreciated. Food was very good Shower hot and efficient but could hear when neighbours used the light in the middle of the night Mugs instead of cups! Convenient to city centre
To watch tv had to use bed + tv too small & too far away from the bed. Also kept going in & out of signal Room too small for a twin Lumpy uncomfortable mattresses Could hear EVERYTHING going on on both sides!! On-going building works close by a nuisance and messy
Finbarr's restaurant. Excellent, cooked to order, breakfasts. Outstanding evening meals.
Comfortable, near tourist attractions, clean.
Room is a bit small
Free car park, which were able to use before check-in after check-out. The breakfast was very good
The room overnight was too hot and made sleeping difficult. The water pressure of the shower over the bath was non existent unless you had a cold shower.
Location is very convenient; wi-fi works nicely; comfortable bedroom and good breakfast.
I could not extend my check-out for one hour!
The whole hotel was very well presented very nice smart restaurant. The rate included breakfast which was full English if you wanted it and/or a good continental buffet. Staff very friendly. Taxi back from town was £4.50. Would definitely stay again.
It is located quite near the viaduct our room was at the back and we could hear no train noise at all, don't know if it would be a problem for rooms at front. The 10 min walk into town was via bus station area fine during day but we chose to take a taxi home in the evening.
