Situated in a quiet square, but still convenient for Hull shopping, station and sight seeing. Our room had lots of space and was warm and cosy despite sub-zero temperatures outside. There's a great Chinese restaurant just round the corner in Charles St. Our room was not very soundproof, and it sounded like a hen party was going on in the next room.. We were pleased that full English breakfast was included in the room rate, but some of the breakfast was a bit cheap and nasty - viz coffee, fruit juice, sausages (not very hot, either) and very very salty bacon.

Breakfast was well organised The room was close to the air conditioning of the kitchen. I was told by staff that this will switch off after 9pm, but unfortunately stayed on / noisy.

Quiet hotel in beautiful square in city centre so easy walk to Hull's interesting historical area, old docks and shops. Only 15mins from the station too. Hotel itself is in a lovely old building so the room had character but mod-cons such as tea-making facilities and a modern bathroom - all spotlessly clean. Full English breakfast cooked quickly to order so it was delicious (unlike breakfasts which sit on a hot plate for hours!).

It was comfortable, warm, clean and quiet - all vital ingredients for a weekend break. The food was good - hot and well prepared. Lovely room and location. Very comfortable bed, fluffy towels, towelling gown and slippers. Good value for money. Only thing that could have been improved was the shower - the water did not flow out of it well enough for a decent shower. I did not report this but enjoyed a bath instead - lots of hot water available.

Clean, good breakfast. Putting £15 on my credit card, in case I wanted to have a drink later! Not telling us there was a night club below the hotel and was therefore noisy plus a wedding disco.

“The Proprietors were very friendly and anxious to oblige. The room was spacious with all mod cons and the beds were comfortable. There was plenty of choice for breakfast and Janet, the proprietor cooked everything to your choice and taste. The hotel is a bit far from the City Centre of Hull but there is a frequent bus service to and from town for people who prefer to leave the car at home. The Guest House had a friendly and homely atmosphere whilst some hotels can feel a little impersonal. I am pleased to recommend it to others. ” Barbara, Lancaster, Lancashire |
