The hotel was clean and bright the staff were helpful and polite. We used the hotel to break our journey. If anything I found the bed a little soft. I would certainly use it again. It was popular with the locals for Sunday tea.

Location, breakfast, helpfulness of staff
Bit tired in places reflecting its age
Room shabby mean hospitality tray - one pkt of biscuits for two people and ubiquitous uht milk. Black dirt around the shower tray. Cheap ingredients for breakfast
The staff were really helpful and friendly and the evening meal and cooked breakfast were extremely tasty. The rooms were interconnecting which was perfect when travelling with young children, would definitely recommend to friends and would not hesitate to stay there again.
The most professional, courteous staff throughout the hotel, the best we have experienced in a long time.....food was very tasty and great value for money....room was very spacious with a great view of Edinburgh at night
Very poor broadband, (very frustrating )....Shower very dated could do with an upgrade...
Welcome, food, staff, view, All excellent. Will be back.
Missed a handrail over bath to help stepping in for bath or shower
Friendly and helpful staff Great food Beautiful views
Location of hotel near main road and railway line a little noisy at night when windows needed to be open on warm nights.

no wife to share the four poster
Friendly staff, comfy beds, good quality food reasonably priced. Great breakfasts.
TV was a bit temperamental and the bathroom plumbing was a bit quirky
Hotel nice and clean, staff very efficient and friendly.
Thought this was a little pricey for a last minute booking in what is not a high profile location
