Although the headline may seem negative you have to consider the price. £35 a night in Maidenhead is bed and breakfast prices, and Travelodge was charging nearly twice that. For a one night hangover stay it is very reasonably priced but there is one massive jewel in the crown - the restaurant. Fully authentic Indian restaurant aptly named "Gandhi", you quickly forget where you are. The restaurant is well set out and the food is excellent. The chef was brought out for me to congratulate and the service was again excellent. I would rate my stay as 7/10 because the cleanliness of the room was some concern. If they can address this, it becomes a better proposition. I am unlikely to stay there again but I would certainly revisit the restaurant.
Rooms are in urgent need of modernization. Bath was a pastel green from the 70's - seriously! There was black mould under the mixer taps and the shower head was of the pink rubber type, again from that period. If you spend £500 you could transform the bathroom, everything else not as critical.
Cheapest option I found in Maidenhead and 10min walk to town. Lots of parking on street. Room was ok size and facilities were functional. Some rizlas in drawers from previous occupant so perhaps not the most thorough cleaners.
Furniture looked like something bought from a charity shop, but they did the job. Reception was manned by a kid who looked like he'd walked in off the street...
Value for money. Fast Internet access.
don't do breakfasts
Great bengali food from in-house restaurant Price...were in transit and location was good
Bathroom ceiling mouldy Bathroom light didn't work Place was in need of a good makeover
The young man who tried to sort things really cared but was powerless to make any difference
Wifi broken, tv didn't work, only 2 of the light bulbs in the room worked, the light over the mirror in the bathroom didn't work
Terrrible internet connection
No one at reception morning or evening. No luck on the front door of the hotel. Poor security.
Very basic - a bit like student accommodation - and no provision for any breakfast
Not at all clean. The fixtures were not working in the room as expected to be.
there was a cleaning lady who was extremely helpful The room was nice and big
No service till 11 am stuck with faulty internet ,no one there to help narrow bath room could be dicey if you wanted help I have never experienced this before,no service !!!
restaurant was very good. easy to find. room was fair
no breakfast available
shower was luke warm
Location - works for me
This particular room - Room No 10 - was dreadful for noise, impossible to sleep. Firstly a water/heater tank gave off a lot of intermittent noise (gurgling) throughout the night, also a fan either next door or outside made a very loud droning noise from 3am on. at 1 am residents started banging doors and then staff members were heard talking very loudly at 2am. Totally unacceptable for the price paid. I've stayed in other rooms in this hotel and never had a problem. Owners need to address these issues as a matter of urgency
It's cheap! Room basic but functional with tea making facilities, TV and comfy bed. Far nicer and less plastic than a budget hotel. Staff were friendly and on site parking is a bonus.
The rooms are above an Indian restaurant which makes for a noisy environment. Don't stay here if your a light sleeper or ask for a room on the upper floor. The room was tired and could do with a refresh but for the price you can't argue.
Quiet room Very clean.
Shabby bathroom. TV unable to access main channels and it went off at midnight Had to wait ages for attention on afternoon arrival - no one around and indifferent you g man appears to have been awoken from sleep to attend to me and no pleasantries. I asked if a lift to first floor as I had a heavy case and I'm 67 and he said no lift and pointed to the stairs and walked past my case back to his room opposite the desk and closed the door.
resturant good. Reception staff good.
terrible bed. rooms really need updating. Very very basic.
Plug sockets on my room were not working. Staff changed my room straight away no fuss. I orderd a curry from the restaraunt and the staff bought it to my room and it was very nice. What hotel lacks in presentation it makes up for in friendly staff
The fact that neither of the bedside plug sockets worked. Decor dated. Needs a serious refurb.
Price location nice bar
When checking in they asked for id in the form of a passport or driving license neither of which I had. Fortunately my friend did. Apparently it was in case the police came and asked who was staying! Also only 1 glass and cup in a double room but 2 in the single room.
The service at the reception was very poor I guess he just being there for 2months talks in an aggressively rude way I don't care attitude even up too now thinking about my experience I don't feel safe it was very poor imagine a receptionist telling u is ur business if u think his rude saying ur stupid without u even making trouble just a lil Q I asked of him why am I asked for my ID he got defensively I believe they have an abnormal receptionist that's what I put into consideration like he is not fit mentally to work nd is not fair on him he should do the dishes or something I wouldn't recommend this place am sorry dirty as well
- Banging doors throughout the entire stay. - No breakfast available - Lights not working properly - Not enough towels or cups - Bathroom was hideous
Hotel is situated 10 minute walk from the town centre, rooms are above the indian restaurant.Room was a basic single room , with shower & toilet, clean and tidy, comfortable bed, room with a little wear showing, not too bad,ok for night or so, but basic. In a respectable safe area. For the money all in all ok, but don,t expect Premier Inn!
No one specifically on reception when arriving and departing. No option for breakfast
Poor service during check in Small, uninspiring room In need of revamp
The single room they have me was shocking. If health and safty saw the room they put me in they would close the room down it was not fit for anyone to stay there. I plugged my phone charger in the wall and the hole socket went though the wall. There was mould around the skirting bored. The shower after 10 minuets got Luke warm and that was it the water would not run out the bottom and filled if quite fast. The metal towl rail in the bathroom was all rusty. The wardrobe had a door at the back of it with lost of routers and wires on show. The staff when I advised them of all this just shrugged it off did not offer to move rooms or anything. Very bad hotel and should not be ok booking.com. unsafe
The in house Indian restaurant is one of the best I've ever visited, so it was worth staying there just for that! The staff were very friendly when we saw them! The hotel is situated in a residential area, so it was quiet and felt safe. It was within easy reach of the town centre.
The room wasn't ready when we checked in. This wasn't a problem as we were able to dump our bags in the unmade room and go out to explore the area! No staff around during the day! TV in the room was very very small!
Cheapest digs I could find ! £50 a night is good for maidenhead
Rooms where dirty and smelt of stale curry from the Indian restaurant downstairs , noisy also
