Staff were friendly and the room clean. The location is good for the local countryside and convenient for the railway station. I would classify the hotel as 2-3 star. Comfortable without having any wow factor. An 'average' type of hotel. The room was adequate for one night but not a lot of room for a longer stay.

The food was of a reasonable standard The room was severely requiring an update, rips in carpet and very outdated. Room was freezing cold and shower in the morning only luke warm. Very dissapointing.

Really friendly staff, great cooked breakfasts, free WiFi, comfortable room, proximity to Dyce, free parking. Faded decor, creaky floorboards.

Staff were excellent when we had problems with room they moved us straight away. A lot quieter and bed was nicer. Bed had zip up middle therefore uncomfortable. Noisy (refrigeration truck in car park) security light kept coming on. Was moved to another room. Toilet noisy and stopped working, after a couple of hours started working again. Shower could not be moved easily and fell out of holder.

The food and service in the restaurant was very good and the staff very pleasant. The room was poor. Bed very uncomfortable. `No headboard, no bedside table, no telephone and room only had a velux window which made it feel stuffy. For £85 per night I was expecting a bit more. Our room was also above the function suite and luckily we were out at a function ourselves but it was very noisy when we returned. If you wanted a quiet night in it would have been impossible.

My car got snowbound in the car park and the two of the young male staff helped to get us on the move in a temperature of -17. They did so with great charm and humour, willingly digging and pushing to get us on our way to the airport.

Food was of a "pub" standard - good, filling but expensive for what it was. Beds were comfortable Big, bleak, barren - very few other guests - dined alone with only one other family group on a Friday night. Limited menu although well cooked. Bedroom although large with high ceilings had only one tiny framed print on the walls, cobwebs on the chandelier, black mould around the bath. Very worn carpeting throughout the hotel. Very dated throughout.
