On the seafront in the heart of Brighton's 'Lanes', this friendly hotel has a pool, gym and free Wi-Fi. It is well located for nightlife, restaurants and the beach.

Opposite the beach, Umi Brighton Hotel is set on the lively seafront, about a 2 minute walk from The Brighton Centre. It offers free Wi-Fi and free access to a local health club.

Situated 50 metres from the beach, The Oriental is 5 minutes’ walk from Brighton’s city centre. Gatwick Airport is less than half an hour by car or train, and London is only 50 minutes away by train.

Beautiful decor, clean well-made and comfortable beds. Delicious breakfast, including several juices, cereals, toast and jam/honey/nutella. Wifi and extra desktop for browsing Internet. Fantastic location, just 10min walk from beach, and right across from Pavilion. Extra touches such as large toffee container by reception, toothbrushes and shampoo. Nice kitchen facilities and even some outdoor seating. Nintendo Wii!
The double bed private ensuite is one of the nicest rooms I've ever stayed in
Location and cost were good with breakfast included.
Room smelled of cigarettes. A fuss was made over not having photo ID (this wasn't specified as a requirement when booking). All a bit tired and unloved.
I've only been to 3 hostels in other different cities and that was probably the best. Especially the staff and price of stay. And included food.
Awesome staff. Great bfast, lovely area, close to everything. Had a great time in brighton, would definitely recommend kipps to anyone. Staff suggested an awesome italian pizza place (V.I.p) just down the street, great, reasonably priced, authentic pizza, friendly service. 5 stars all round :)
The location of this hostel is great, not far from the station or the waterfront, and very close to the lanes and the Royal Pavilion. You can see it walking down Church Street from the station which was great because I didn't have to look far! The staff I spoke to were all fantastic and so friendly, even when I arrived and couldn't find my card, they were so accommodating. I loved the free food/social evenings which created a great atmosphere for the guests. My room was small but very cozy, I had a great sleep. The laundry service was great too, they did everything for you! Just make sure you give it to them at least a day before your departure. I would definitely stay again - thank you!
Just something to note, I had a few issues when modifying my booking - which I admittedly had to do twice before my stay, but I don't think they were handled very well and it was made out to be a much bigger thing than it was. Could be discrepancies with booking.com but either way I think the system should be improved. Not many toilets/showers for how many people were staying there. Felt like there were a lot of rules like the kitchen closures, access to milk etc. I was on the top floor, but in saying that the staff very kindly took my bags up for me on the first day which I appreciated greatly
Didn't have a cooked breakfast. Only continental which is the downside
Really friendly staff, great location right next to the sea front plus rooms were clean and shared bathroom facilities were much better than expected.
Our 'ensuite' shower was literally in the room which was a little strange- especially if sharing with a friend
The staff were horrible to us we couldnt check in until 2pm yet we had to check out by 11am we thought it would be 2pm so we went out for some breakfast and when we came back at 11.30 they had packed all our stuff and brought our bags down and 1 girl in particular was very hostile towards us.
Extremely clean. Very well designed and typical Brighton hotel. Helen is amazingly helpful. She carried my 20 kg suitcase to the 3rd floor. I was very touched by her help. Rooms are small with low ceiling, but very cute. In fact, all the building in Brighton are low. That's the tradition. The bar and breakfast area is very cosy.
No lift. It's not a bit deal because the receptionists are very helpful. However, I really didn't appreciate the night shift clerk. He treated every guest as a potential thief. Your every move during the night around the public area will be suspected by him. And he was not ready to understand English spoken by a foreigner. His ugly attitude and lousy habit of frowning at people have toughly spoiled my experience at this hotel. How awful!
Great location. Within walking distance to Brighton Pier and beach. An easy 5 min walk to The Lanes and main shops. The room was very comfortable and spacious and the staff made you feel very welcome.
Wi fi didn't work upstairs in our room. Had to go down to the first floor landing to get connection.
Great staff and location! I recommend.
You hear a little bit more noise from street than you would like in the bedrooms.
Kipps was an amazing place. I generally do not write reviews but this place was genuinely good, staff was friendly, it was clean unlike other hostels, rooms were spacious, beds and mattresses were fine as well. Not to mention the breakfast in the morning, it was cheap (only £2.50) and the portion was big enough. All in all, a good place to stay and I made a lot of new friends here as well :)
The only downside would be the low pressure of the shower on second floor in the common bathroom. Apart from that, I did not have any complaints about this place.
Great location, good facilities and nice social areas
I paid the same amount as my friends but they got an en suite toilet and shower whereas i only got an en suite shower.
15 mins walk from the train station and located at the heart of bath! Most tourist spots are very close to the hostel!
Brilliant stay. Bring a lock with you if you want to secure your belongings.
It is much more than a standard hostel - our double room was fantastic and the staff were wonderful.
Price-- it is really worth your money Breakfast is included. Toothbrush and toothpaste are provided! The room is clean.
Room smelled like smoke despite the no smoking sign
Bit small room but comfortable bed but I'm happy !
Better for deaf people And hot food breakfast
Small shower and share toilet
Spot on customer service once again. Feels like staying with friends
Staffs are very friendly. Moreover, they offered free in the evening. Common room is very convenient.
Location, Staff, very clean, much much nicer than the hostel I stayed at in Brighton the night after I was here
One shared toilet and shower for the dorm room I was in, expensive for Brighton
