The food, the service and the room were all very good indeed.
Staff couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome and the food was exceptional. We will definitely be returning
Plenty of car parking space. loved the building, very characterful. A very warm welcome by a friendly gentleman was a good start.
Disappointed in the room. I paid the discounted price so was satisfied- just! I certainly would never want to pay the full price of ~£140 per night for a double room. Small basic shower room with no door, no towel rail/hook, no toiletries at all, except hand wash. Aged carpet. The room, with a little thought (and a slightly bigger bed) could have been so much better! Only sandwiches for room service.
Really enjoyed my one night here as Simon made me feel very welcome. Food was good too and drinks @the bar meant there was no need to find another venue!
The room was clean and the bed comfortable, the food was EXCELLENT and the food and drinks were not expensive, staff very helpful and assisted in me parking a large race trailer! Huge cooked breakfast much appreciated! Seemed too be used by business clientele as well as us racers; quiet and peaceful.
The only room that remained for our booking had a remote (although private to us) bathroom. There was a basin in the room however. Next time we'll book earlier and get an en suite.
cleanliness of room and house. comfortable bed
little disappointed when I arrived 10 mins early for breakfast (ten to eight) to be sent back to room and not allowed to sit in lounge area or dining room
From the moment you arrive you are made welcome, with great staff and good food all made an enjoyable stay.
Not a lot
Absolutely brilliant value for money! Wonderful staff, great facilities and nice meal at the restaurant downstairs. Would highly recommend and would return if given half a chance. Thanks!
Great place to stay!!! Top class food!!! Very clean!!! Great staff!!! And most of all Steve the owner was very articulate in everything he did great guy!!!
Friendly, helpful staff. Good quality accommodation at fair price. Good food and bar with well kept real ale, again fairly priced. Secure parking. Lovely building, sympathetically restored in pleasant rural position close to M1/M6/A5.
Steve the manager was extremely helpful and welcoming. Building is lovely, room was large and bed was very comfy. Bathroom was not separated though and consisted of a shower and sink with no door for privacy.
Bathroom. Everything else was fine.
Good Welcome Good Food but shortage of staff for breakfast Good Location Easy Parking Helpful staff
Bedroom had a distinct musty smell - it was on the outside of the main building Bedroom very basic - no chairs or table and very small.
Beautiful house and lovely staff. The room is very cosy and nice bed and tv. Good car park. Remodelled restaurant.
The shower and toilet were on opposite sides of the bedroom. In the countryside so needed a satnav to find it.
Very comfortable and relaxed.
I stayed after searching for cheap hotel, which I needed just for one night (client local). I wanted cheap room which is what I got but the room was to the standard of way beyond what I would normally pay (for example - what your'd expect for paying well over £100 pn). It was lovely, clean and comfortable, amazing for the price and the breakfast was the best poached eggs I've ever had away! A rare find and top recommended in all aspects!
The fact I had to get up early and go to my worst client! : )
verry good and freindly place service was exellent for the location i wanted
Choice of food, very friendly staff, local to track, very clean, superb!
The friendliness of the staff, the food was good
Nothing to dislike
LOVELY HOUSE WITH PLENTY OF CHARACTER , BAR NEARLY READY AND WILL LOOK GREAT WHEN FINISHED
Home-cooked food was good and plentiful. Excellent freshly cooked breakfast. Friendly proprietors who were extremely attentive.
Location set in a very quiet village so not much to do without transport.
Great staff. Very friendly and helpful. Made the stay a very enjoyable experience. Location was beautiful as was the accommodation. Very in keeping with traditional country style. Although renovations were taking place in the bar area we were not disturbed and management were very apologetic. All in all a great stay and would happily recommend to others.
Charming & friendly. The building has a lot of character & will look a treat once the renovations are completed. The owner/staff were very friendly & accommodating. When we arrived my husband was ill & went straight to bed. The owner was very helpful to ensure we had everything we needed & more. Thank you it was much appreciated. Will certainly recommend to others & come back if in the area again!
Our stay was too short....
We accidentally booked this hotel while it was under renovation. Arriving at 9pm to discover that it's closed wasn't the nicest experience - however the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. They opened up a room and allowed us to stay. They helped out with laundry and even had cooked breakfast for the next morning. They really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome - much appreciated, thanks guys!
Charming and friendly. The building is a wonderful large traditional farmhouse. Definitely recommend.
Couldn't fault a thing.
It was a fantastic little hotel with excellent food and hospitality . Would recommend and it will be outstanding once the restaurant is fully finished. Will visit again Thanks for a great stay
