The only member of staff we met was very amusing and very accomodating - we arrived late but he still managed to produce dinner for us. His dog , Louis was very entertaining. |

The traditional sense of a hotel with history, the rooms very very pleasent. attentive and friendly staff. filling breakfast. close to motorway access. Perhaps a tidy up of the main rooms, fab artefacts not being shown to their best ability. I loved the dog! not a moments trouble, a great charactor, but if you dont like dogs (some dont!) could be an issue. |

The attractive gardens, the friendly owner who did good cooking for us, the clean, bright bedroom and especially the roll-top bath. Not a good place to go if you dislike dogs as the owner's two dogs seem to have free run of the place. |

Comfortable bedroom Dog in dining room. At breakfast the person at the next table was given bacon - we were not offered or given it! Although the restaurant was large it was empty & we were told that dinner was on;ly served till 7.30pm. |

The breakfast was uncooked with Raw Sausage and meagre portions (half a black pudding) the décor was slightly dilapidated. There was a smell of paint in the room and there was a old newspaper paper from 2008 under our bed. We did not get the room we booked. The evening staff were very unfriendly, and on more than one occasion said we can leave if we want to |

The warm welcome of the owner John. Lots of interesting artifacts and antiques original to the house and it's history. The bathroom and shower was particularly good. The food homemade and wholesome, not fancy just good ingredients freshly made. |

The staff were attentive and friendly. The building itself is interesting and full of character. Rooms were clean and well fitted. The food was appalling. We ordered steaks that seemed to be cooked earlier and reheated. We were still charged for it despite our complaints and sending it back. |
