staff very attentive and helpful - food very good. Public areas furniture good. toiletries excellent - bedlinen spotless. Lot of weeds growing at front of hotel - poor. Room floor sloped badly.Lack of towel rail in en-suite a nuisance. Reception area needed a good hoovering especially first thing in the morning. |

The owners and staff were very friendly and helpfull. The Dinner and breakfast were excellent.The hotel is undergoing a refurbishment at the moment but that did not detract from my stay,i look forward to returning when the work is finished. |

The lunch and evening meals were both excellent and the staff amongst the friendliest and most helpful that I have experienced over my many years of travelling and staying in small hotels in Scotland. The TV was very limited in the choice of viewing and the rooms could be more bright through better choice of painting and pictures on the wall.The fire door into room 5 being all wood was a bit of a barrier and restricted the light. |

The Kirklands has recently changed ownership. The new owners are currently undertaking a programme of renovation. We stayed in the six person 'two bedroom' unit which also has an attached lounge. The two bedrooms and the lounge together provide a substantial amount of space. Though the bathroom and bedroom furnishings need updating, they were comfortable and clean. Bedrooms are dated, but are on the list for refurbishment. Given time, I'm sure the owners will develop the business into a good class hotel/B &B. |

Staff and food were excellent - the bedroon was good and location convenient The bathroom could have been cleaner - it was not dirty but I do not expect to find the previous occupant's hair on the floor and the skiting boards etc were dusty. Not a big deal - but a small attention to detail here would be good as it was the only minus point |

The staff were very nice as was the food. In the evening the heating was only on for about one hour. The weather was cool enough to justify longer than this. |

The service was excellent and all of the staff were exceedingly friendly and helpful, plus food was very good. The decor throughout the hotel also excellent. If management do not stay on top of cleanliness of rooms then they will deteriorate quickly. |
