The B&B was listed as close to St. Andrews, but was very far out. We decided to forfeit our second day's reservation money to find something closer to what we needed. Also, it was on a working farm, which we knew, but the house, itself, was not marked well, and had no lights to lead you to the front door from the parking area. We needed to use our flashlight to find it, as we negotiated the stone steps through a side yard.
The proprietor was nice. The breakfast was fine, nothing extraordinary.
Nothing to dislike about the place, we were very satisfied on every level.
Rory the owner will ensure you have a fabulous stay. The farm house and garden has both charm and a sense of peace and tranquillity. Fabulous breakfasts! Great location for St Andrews Cannot recommend this place enough and will certainly like to stay there again.
Directions for the location are clear, but driving can be challenging when one is unfamiliar with the area as well as the poor road markings.
The accommodating host is an excellent cook, offers great touring suggestions and makes sure all needs are met. The home and farm have a wonderful ambiance. Very convenient for St Andrews & other coastal attractions.
The inn was a bit off the beaten path and on a dirt road.
Host, Rory, was friendly and helpful with suggestions for things to do in the area. At breakfast he interacted and encouraged guest conversation which was very pleasant. Our room was large and wifi connection was good.
Dust: Had to clean the car afterwards :-) ...Actually there was almost nothing we disliked here.
This home is quite central to many other places in this area. It is quiet being in the countryside - alongside working farm barns that gave no noise whatever. Parking is not a problem. There was a local eatery nearby that was recommended & although you need a car to get to it, was worth visiting ... Thanks Rory.
A beautiful home built in 1800s. Absolutely stunning. A very authentic stay with an excellent breakfast. The owner is very welcoming and helpful.
It was a lovely home with a beautiful garden. We had two very large sized rooms which were very comfortable and warmly furnished. The host, Rory, was fantastic and very welcoming. The breakfast was delicious. and the location was very convenient to St. Andrews.
The owner was very friendly, and welcoming. He was attentive to all of our needs. Particularly in helping us to get to Carnoustie for the commonwealth games and offering valuable advice on the local area. The room was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was also very good. I would definitely recommend this B&B to others
Lovely house beautiful bedroom breakfast Sitting room was great

nice environment, good breakfast, comfortable rooms, home-feeling; good location
We loved the peaceful location, beautiful surroundings, fabulous hospitality and delicious breakfast. What a beautiful place.
Rory was terrific. Relaxed comfort. Wonderful breakfast.
Located on a working farm. We loved our stay. Rory, the proprietor and host, is a retired school teacher. He is a delightful fellow, very attentive to his guests and very knowledgeable about the area.
Great welcome from the host Rory; easy no fuss stay which added to the enjoyment of our daughter's graduation from St Andrews University. Would happily recommend.
Rory was very friendly and helpful, as was his assistant who served breakfast. Delightful person! Loved the country setting and the large breakfast room. This was our favorite B&B in our 3-week UK trip.
Wifi was only available in living room and not bedrooms
Beautiful location. Owner was so helpful and the breakfast was delicious
Just a bit out of the way for St. Andrews but Dundee was very close.
Very comfortable stay. Helpful information regarding the area, places to dine, etc. Lovely breakfast.
Lovely country house.
It was very welcoming lovely place we also due to illness had to cut our stay short and they were very understanding. I would recommend them for a stay and I would use them again
The only essential that you require when staying at Kirkton Barns is a car. You are QUITE in the country!
A very delightful venue, made all the more so by the very kind consideration of its owner-operator, Mr. Rory Weyms, who went so far out of his way to assist us at every turn. The pleasure of the grounds, the delight of breakfast overlooking them, and all the comforts of home make this a very memorable experience. A hotel is merely a "hotel," generic no matter its pretensions, but here you have a real taste of Scotland "en famille," embraced by years gone by, for it has been in the Weyms family since it was built in 1829. Heartily recommended, particularly if you enjoy a bit of quiet without the sound of golf balls crashing through your windows.
Location was great, peace and quiet in the evenings. Great views of countryside. Super breakfast and great value for money. Staff very friendly and informative. I would go back.
Lovely old family house, beautifully kept, very friendly welcome, and delicious breakfast.
