We truly enjoyed walking the property looking at the various plants and landscaping. The trees size and the moss growing on them were spellbinding. We have seen nothing like it. We will certainly recommend your B & B should any of friends decide to visit Scotland. In fact in terms of accommodation, locale, and friendliness of the people it was our favourite B & B.

The building and surroundings are beautiful. It's a stunning location, with gardens and wildlife all around. The house was very cosy and the room was extremely comfortable. The hosts provided such a warm welcome, which was really lovely as I was travelling alone and they made me feel at home. The room was spotless with lovely soft fresh-smelling sheets. They provide fresh milk, tea and coffee and a little chocolate treat which is a nice touch. Philip the dog was extremely charming also!

A stronger wifi signal would have been good, but there is nothing I would criticise about Kirnan House. It is really a great place and I hope to return with my partner for a longer stay on my own time (not working).

I stayed here with my mum for 3 nights. Ross was extremely welcoming and friendly, told us where all the best eateries etc were. We found lots of inquisitive animals whilst having a walk around the estate on our first evening! Wonderful breakfasts with some ingredients fresh from the estate. The beautiful countryside of the Knapdale forest is less than 15 minutes drive away.

Lovely peaceful surroundings, beautiful gardens, plenty of wildlife, excellent breakfast, friendly atmosphere, reasonably priced. It 's all good.

You do need a car, if that's a downside

Very pleasent welcome from Ross on arrival where he took the time to show us around some of the grounds and to our lovely room. We mentioned we'd be leaving before breakfast so he made sure we had breakfast to wake up to in our fridge! As a couple into wildlife and me especially with an interest in birds of prey we had 500 acres to explore. Ross explained Golden Eagles had been seen up on the hill, and the best route to take. We got to the top and as I watched a group of deer disappear over the ridge up circled a pair of Golden Eagles it was perfect! The local pub for supper we were recommended was lovely and the locals very friendly pointing us in the right direction for the Knapdale beavers. We didn't see them but we did see an otter! Just a shame we didn't have time for the ospreys!

We enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the house and gardens. We were entertained most hospitably by Ross and Diana and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was well-appointed overlooking the garden and had a jacuzzi bath. Would be a good base for touring along the west coast and islands. Would definitely stay again and have recommended it to friends. Kirnan House is conveniently located for visiting Inverary Castle and the Loch Fyne Oyster Bar.

Lovely out of the way large house set in 600 acres. Very peaceful; nice room with en-suite facilities, and a good, firm, bed. Breakfast was very good and the hosts attentive and jovial.

To stay with Diane and Ross was the highlight of our recent trip to Scotland. You book a room, but you can use the house. Ross baked fresh bread for breakfast. It was our first time there, but for sure not the last time.

Worst thing was, we had only one night there :-(

We stayed in a B&B room overlooking the side garden. Slept well on a good bed with cool, clean linens, had a settee for sitting and reading or using out notebooks. Enjoyed the scent of fresh baked bread every morning and the lovely selection of cold or hot breakfasts that set you up for the day. The house is beautiful, the grounds spectacular. And there are the dogs--sweethearts, and the animals on the extended property--we made the rounds daily. We booked two fabulous dinners cooked by Ross (who is such a star he deserves a separate review). If you want quiet, you'll have quiet, if you would like to be more social, you have most delightful hosts. Kirnan House really is a place for travelers of all stripes and we met many interesting people in our 11 nights there!!

    We liked everything!

Upon arriving at Kirnan House we were met by a gaggle of geese, chickens quickly followed by our host Ross on his seated lawnmower who was accompanied by his Jack Russell; Phillip. Ross was very welcoming providing us with a quick tour of our surroundings before showing us to our good sized clean bedroom. The surroundings were peaceful and scenic with plenty of walks to be taken through the grounds, our favourite being the short stroll to see the sheep, especially the hand reared lamb, goats; their kids, the pig and donkeys in the grazing fields. Breakfast was delicious with a good selection of breakfast foods. There was also the added treat of tasting truly fresh (just laid) eggs with bread, home made, just out of the oven. As a host Ross was excellent going out of his way to make us feel at home and even took us for a spin on his quad bikes. We’d definitely make a point of returning to Kirnan House if we were in the vicinity again.

    we couldn't stay longer!

The location was superb, very scenic and peaceful. The house itself oozes character and the proprietor and his family were very friendly and welcoming. We had a very comfortable nights sleep and the cooked breakfast was top drawer. We will definitely be back for another stay and hopefully, next time will be for a longer period.

    Nothing, it was all good

The welcome, the surroundings, the food, the comfortable bed, the timeless quality of the place, the peace and quiet. The dogs, the chickens, the relaxed atmosphere and the sense of returning to friends rather than a b&b

The height of the tiny mirror in the bedroom. The height of the mirrors in the bathroom. The lack of adjacent socket to mirror, and the size of the cups and saucers in relation to the amount of room available.

Friendly atmosphere, convivial host, beautiful homemade food, especially the herb bread! We were met by chooks, geese and spaniels - what more could you expect in rural Britain? An awesome setting, and great backstory. Ross was full of useful advice on local food and ales, and local history.

    Nothing.

    Location

Poor fitting/ torn bed sheet and duvet cover. Only 1 breakfast cereal (muesli) offered which was ok but not if you suffer from nut allergies. Cooked breakfast very meager.

We loved everything, such a beautiful house and gardens. It was good to be away from the towns but still close enough to go to the pub. We were made to feel very welcome by Ross and his family would love to go back again.

I loved the location, which was in a beautiful estate. The host was charming, and took us for a tour and to see an interesting neolithic stone on the estate. He has several dogs, hens, geese and other animals, which were interesting to see. The bread at breakfast was freshly made, and there was lovely fresh fruit salad. I got a single occupier discount. The wi-fi was very good.

The room would have been improved by a soap dish in the shower, and instructions as to how to use the shower. The mirror in the room was not at the correct height for me (so difficult to style my hair while drying it). There is no lock on the door (and the front door is left open) which some people might not like. It was not possible to get a phone signal in the room, only in one spot outside.
