Knavesmire Manor Hotel

Location, very peaceful, attentive staff

felt very welcome. staff very helpful about buses into town etc.

wanted to use the pool more but couldn't work the spa pool and it felt like it wasn't opened up enough so that when I went to it no doors had been open so the conservatory building where the pool was situated was unbearable because of the hot weather we were having. pool needed leaves taking out of it and there were only a few chairs - no loungers or anywhere comfortable that made you want to stay around that area. bathroom very out of date in the room.

I liked the hotel, location. The staff were excellent

the breakfast stopped at 9.30 at teh weekend, I didn't have breakfast either day cause I was on a break and liked the idea of being able to lay in bed a little later than normal work days. 10.30 stop would have been more accomodating.

The politeness of all staff & especially the help & information given by the owner TIM REID .Suggest any over 60's apply & bring with them Free bus pass this would save them money on the excellent bus service into York City.

It needs a bit of refurbishment but understand from TIM this was in hand and will recommence when present financial crisis ends.

The bed was comfortable. The room was adequate for a one night stay.The staff were helpful. The hotel had good car parking facilities which are difficult to obtain in York.

The room was very clean and adequate. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The food was good. Good value for money

The staff were more than happy to listen and advise about were to go and the local services. The room was clean,comfortable and had complimentary drinks including tea and coffee. It was also within walking distance of York.

We liked the cheerfulness of the staff, the swimming pool and the breakfast, which had plenty of options, including smoked haddock!

The main part of the hotel could do with a refurbish.

I liked the friendly, helpful staff, the fact there was a swimming pool and the food was great. The room was clean, tidy and comfortable.

shower facility/screen needed replacing, breakfast not available until 7.30am ( I had an early morning start)

We enjoyed the personal touch of the staff, and being in a small comfortable hotel near to the city centre. The rooms were quirky but very comfortable, and the public rooms dowstairs were ideal for our small family group (quiet 50th birthday gathering). Also, the dinner menu was excellent, bar and wine prices very reasonable, and the breakfast very good.
