Great food at the restaurant. Nice room.
"No electronics" rule at the restaurant! Need more staff as waiting at reception and restaurant on more than one occasion.
Very comfy room
Didn't get evening meal cos service started too late
Love the Castle very friendly and felt at home, will be going back
Love it all
The view from bar/restaurant, Fab breakfast choice. Lots of coffee, hot chocolate and water provided in room.
The pool was closed for repair and we were not informed of this or we would not have booked. Very disappointing as we are keen swimmers.
Accommodation great facilities very good. Staff were excellent. Meals were made to order - compliments to the chef. Swimming pool, jacuzzi and spa really good.
The only complaint was that the pool was having a refurbishment and was closed on our last day, which we were not informed about.
Staff were all very friendly helpful & accommodating... Food was first class .. Facilities & everything first class will certainly be going back
the staff where great nothing to much trouble and as I walk with sticks the lift was a big thing for me .
Deep fried breakfast . Decor
Reception staff excellent, polite and professional, very accommodating
food mediocre, was expecting some fine cuisine, could see into kitchen whilst sitting in restaurant and that was off putting - one member of staff smelled of cigarette smoke
We were delighted to receive an upgrade to a suite .
The canned Christmas music which was changed after we complained, however the canned music replacement was not much better. Need to improve .
The restaurant was very nice and the staff very helpful
I had asked for a nice room as it was my husbands 50 th birthday . The room we were allocated was in the new part of the hotel and was very average. The real fire in the hall wasn't lit which was disappointing as it was very cold outside. Would have been lovely to come back to a nice roaring fire .
Not a lot
Everything was excellent clean friendly staff pool food everything the best place I have stayed at very good value for money have recommended it to friends already
Nothing to fault
It was a fun place, I was the only person there. staff was friendly, thanks for the upgrade, the single room was a bit claustrophobic. I would stay again.
The canned music......please turn it down, don't have it everywhere, and program some nice tunes....the selection was computer generated rubbish! ( also, the table cloths are so long in the dining room, that they tangle up in your feet)
location, breakfast and some members of staff
for the price of the room I'd expect a toothbrush and toothpaste. and when I asked if they had any available, not to be told to go to the supermarket down the road. I've had better service in travel lodges. room was "deluxe" but some old furniture does not make it so.
Atmosphere, Original features, gardens mountain views, swimming pool and sauna. food
Residents bar area was small and only attended on demand by receptionist. No sky television.
The Pool area was very good.
The room was pokey. The bar was in a cupboard. The furniture in the lounge was worn and the room itself grim. The breakfast was a disgrace. This is one of the most overpriced hotels I have come across.
The roaring fire in the hall. The food in the restaurant was freshly cooked and hot and an excellent selection to choose from.
The sitting room with the piano was all wrong. A fireplace with a wood fire would have made it more comfortable.
Charming room. Restaurant staff very good, food excellent.
We did not feel that Knock Castle quite achieved what it advertised, certainly not 'elegant luxury'. On arrival we had to insist very firmly on being given the room we had booked rather than something inferior. There seemed to be a shortage of staff.
Food was very good
Pool changing dirty and room had broken window latch and bulbs out in bathroom . Invaded in the "quiet" dining room by 23 women on a hen night .... vloud couldnt hold a conversation ended up eating rest of meal in our room
Some of the staff were amazing spa area was nice
some of the staff hadnt a clue Bill calculations were a mess
Jason has worked hard and made this a wonderful relaxing hotel. Staff really helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Food was amazing and the lounge extremely comfortable. Spa treatments fabulous.
Bedroom slightly small but extremely clean.
We booked a 3 day break at short notice to recuperate after a series of difficult family events. We booked a Deluxe Castle room but were placed in a suite which was very welcome. The suite was well appointed with a very comfortable bed and we slept well. The en-suite bathroom was beautifully well -appointed with a jacuzzi bath which was very relaxing. We were staying on a half board basis and the meals in the Stag's View restaurant were excellent, with a good (if confusing!) mix and match choice across 4 menus. The dinner portions were not huge (fine for me) and I told my husband these are the portion sizes he should be eating! We explored the grounds but did not use the pool or the spa facilities. All in all, we enjoyed our stay, recharged our batteries, and will visit again.
everything was exceptional
Friendly staff, good food
Car park and grounds adjacent to main entrance scruffy and in need of a good bit of TLC. Tired old rooms need updating
