i liked everything. the location and surrounding view was lovely, the room and the hotel was full of character. the staff were so helpful and friendly, the food served in the restaurant was delicious, the bar was lovely to sit in with the roaring fire and comfortable chairs. First class weekend.
Rooms where clean and tidy, Food was of a very good standard, Couple run business which meant you got a warmly welcome. Food was served quickly but not rushed. Great view of the lough and rooms where of an old style decor.
Was a bit expensive for food. Not able to open bedroom windows as there are a lot of flys at night coming in off the lough.
location, view, décor
bar closed at closing time,
We stayed in the self catering boat house. It was very spacious and comfortable for a large group. Good facility and peaceful location.
staff friendly & service was good
room was very small and dark
staff very pleasant and efficient. evening meal very good and not too pricey.
Lakeside location unparalleled, Good food, Pleasant rooms, Friendly + helpful staff. Very relaxed atmosphere.
Arrived 2.45pm and had to go away as check in time of 4pm (stated on confirmation) was strictly adhered to
excellent location,beautiful tranquil views.Friendly staff,clean comfortable room.good food.
a little bit of tweaking everything and could go from good to excellent.
We loved the stunning location and tranquill setting. The property had a great ground floor open plan space for our party of 8 adults and 2 small children. The adjacent country house was very well run and was ideal for us to have some drinks, coffee etc. there were a few issues with the property when we arrived which were quickly resolved in an efficient manner by the friendly staff.
The property is advertised as a 4 bedroom house it could benefit from an additional bathroom/shower facility.
Scenic location, ideal house for families and groups, beautifully furnished and laid out, would definitely stay again.
From the outset we were made feel 'At Home' - the attention to detail was excellent - everyone cared for as an individual. Thank U especially to Gail and her staff for their expertise and professional approach.
ambience. beautiful scenery and countryside. staff. we stayed in the boathouse. excellent!
pity the restaurant closed early on sunday and was not open on Monday for breakfast.
friendly staff location good food and wine atmosphere
clutter in the room - too much furniture hair dryer couldn't be plugged in near enough to the mirror not able to open windows expected better quality coffee for breakfast
Great place to stay lovely place , hotel lovely and staff were great would go back
Staff was very frendly!
We liked the location. The property itself and its history. There wasnt many staff but they were v helpful and nice
We didnt like the bed. It was v uncomfortable and I had a sore back the day after. Also we had an evening meal which was quite nice but very overpriced for what we got. We definitly wouldnt pay for an evening meal again.
Liked the beautiful scenery. Also friendliness. Views from bedroom lovely though window too small.
Décor very dark. Big problems with hot water - couldn't have a bath or shower as no hot water and poor pressure. Bedside lights too dim for reading. Food was very poor, more like a pub and not like a country house hotel. Menu very limited . Breakfast was good. Because of all this we would not return.
We liked everything it was so relaxing, the food and staff were excellent
The location was beautiful and the charming girl who checked everything was ok in our room after a heating glitch was great. She also cooked us a lovely breakfast the next morning.
They advertise dinner until 9pm but when we arrived at 4:30 we were told dinner finished at 5 in the restaurant and so did room service.
Staff very welcoming Location idyllic for anyone old or young. Rooms and views fabulous and well appointed .
Second party unable to shower as no hot water . Given the location you'd expect low water pressure but for 4star accomodation I would expect hot water at all times .
Unfortunately due to the owners mistake we never got to stay to experience. We arrived on sat afternoon,to a very quite place, basically was met by chef and we were asked did the owner know we were coming? Owner arrived, and asked "who we were" we told her we had booked the night before. She proceeded to tell us she had no rooms for the night. she said it was her mistake, she did apologise, and rang another hotel for us but being st Patrick's weekend everywhere was booked out. We were looking forward to experiencing, but obviously didn't get a chance!!!
Location and wonderful hospitality
peace and quiet
