Knoll Country House  

Everything was brilliant. Staff and service was lovely. Lovely room, and service to what we wanted.

The fact the heating was on a timer. When we go away, we felt we shouldn't have to ring for it to be switched on. We found it chilly at times in the room. But after asking for it to be put on twice, we didn't bother asking a third time. This was the only thing we didn't like.

Comfortable bed, excellent breakfast, good quality decor.

Room rates shown by Booking.com were misleading.

Stayed two nights last weekend and had a lovely time. Hotel very clean, warm and friendly. Breakfast was great and plenty of choice. Unfortunately we did not dine in the evening as we were meeting friends at another hotel. Would stay at this hotel again as we could not fault it in any way. Worth a visit for a nice peaceful break. Thank you for a lovely two night break we really enjoyed our stay at the Knoll - 10 out of 10

Unfortunately the Google Map seems to be wrong for this hotel as we booked it to be next to friends at the Newby Bridge Hotel but it is a good 1.5 miles away. Local taxi can be booked in advance as walking in dark was not for the faint hearted.

Very comfortable with good food. Nice big comfortable bed and very nice en suite. Nice comfortable lounge and log fire, with a good bar and reasonably priced wine list.

Parking was tight and the exit was onto a quiet road but a difficult corner - no fault of the owners though.

The breakfast was excellent, rooms were very clean, towels luxurious, dressing gowns a nice touch. The owners were welcoming and friendly.

The small double bed in room 6. Longlife milk in rooms. It would have been nicer to have been offered a small jug of fresh milk if you required it.

The food was superb, the service and the room were impeccable. Definitely value for money & would definitely recommend

It is a beautiful Country House set in lovely surroundings. The staff were very friendly. The room was exceptionally clean.

To be brutally honest for a 5 star guest house we did expect a little more. There were just a few gripes we had which are only little niggles but we would expect more for a five star, namely:- 1. Damp & peeling wallpaper in the bedroom 2. Very badly cracked bathroom floor tile (which was quite dangerous) 3. Tablecloth at breakfast was stained 4. Cracked salt shaker

things I liked about the Knoll Country House. pretty much everything. The only complaint I have is that I had to leave. My partner and I had a really good time and will definately be going back. It is peaceful and quiet and a place to kick your shoes off and relax. The food was so tasty and great value. The staff are a real asset and did verything to make you feel welcome and that nothing was too much trouble

Small and very friendly with attention to detail. Food was excellent. Offerred a very wide selection at breakfast and catered very well for our dietary needs. Our evening meal was also splendid. A tv lounge was available and drinks could be ordered. Our room was tastefully furnished.

The driveway entry was uneven and steep causing the bottom of our car to scrape on it. Note our car is a standard estate, not a sport model. Please note the location shown at Newby Bridge is incorrect and a fault with Google maps. In fact there are two locations shown and the correct one is about 1 mile north of Newby Bridge.

Friendly staff/owners. Nicely decorated bedrooms. Excellent food.

Beautiful standard of accommodation. Hotel staff very careing. No fuss and very accommodating owner. Would recommmend to anyone.

There was nothing to dislike. I felt a bit sad that the dinner was not promoted as much as it should because, from the standard of food at breakfast there was clearly a very high standard. I have spoken to denise personally and suggested ways in which she could encourage prior contact with guests to invite them to dine at the Knoll country house and she is very keen to take up the observations. A lively place and one we will retuned to stay again.

immediately we were made very welcome. Beautiful location, also very quiet and peaceful. Staff very helpful with a lost wallet - this was found after our departure then posted on to us intact.

Peaceful and relaxing nothing was to much trouble and we were made very welcome. A very cumfortable place to stay.

It was difficult to exit the drive due to it's position on the road, but do not see any way this can be changed.

would have liked to have had dinner at Knoll on arrival however dinner was not being served Sunday or Monday,consequently we did not dine at the Knoll which was unfortunate as I am sure the meals were as good if not better than the breakfast.

It had lovely relaxed feel, very welcoming and the staff were all great. Unfortunately we only ate there the last eve as it was delicious

Warm, friendly welcome and an easy-going, relaxed atmosphere. Lovely, large and bright room with super en-suite. Delicious breakfasts with a wide choice and superb local produce. My gluten intolerance was provided for without trouble.

Being very picky, some bits of the room (lamps) could have been dusted more meticulously.

Everything. Staff in particular were incredible. Free chocolates always a bonus...
