The hotel is just off the main road so it is very peaceful. Staff were really friendly and helpful. We stayed B & B and both elements were exellent. The beds warm and comfy, the breakfast varied and tasty. Also a good menu in the restaraunt at very reasonable prices. We would certainly come back again in the future.

This small, friendly hotel offers the most amazing menu and the dinner we had there was well presented and tasted wonderful. Even the scrambled eggs for breakfast were made to look special!

Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Very efficiently run hotel but without any hastle. Pity about the water pressure. The internet hot spot needs improving. Coffee at breakfast was too cold (should be served with hot milk)

Apartment clean and comfortable, well equipped, good heating, friendly helpful staff, lovely surroundings in quiet country lane, plenty of parking space. Kitchen area and cooker quite useable but a bit tired and could do with some refurbishment.

All in all a very well run hotel. Excellent restaurant, imaginative menus, offer an early dinner deal which is good value, good ambiance in restaurant. Staff very friendly and professional. The room we had was a little cosy (standard size) but good facilities.

Friendly service good - Overall - very expensive for short stay. - Should offer various deals. Not enough choice on half board evening dinner menu. Very quick to add supplements for what normally are standard food choices at other Hotels

Staff were very pleasant and accomodating. Food was excellent We stayed in the 107 appartment, and the matteress on the beds were a bit uncomfortable. It was clean and tidy but could do with a bit of updating, however that wuld not stop us returning as it was excellent value for money. The appartment did smell a bit musty but may not have been used since summer season as we stayed in october. Everything you needed except oven gloves.

Only a quick overnight stay so not much to report - aside from staff (the lady who checked us in) was really polite and helpful. This is the 2nd time I have stayed at the La Barbarie and I will stay there again on my return to Guernsey. Many thanks, Steven Bevan

We stayed in one of the 2 bedroom apartments. Very comfortable and quiet, although a bit drab. Having own cooking facilities and a bit more room than we were used to in a hotel room was a lovely change. The staff were very nice and the breakfast was well catered for. If you are staying here or in other St Martins hotels without a car you need to prepare yourself for the irregular bus services. On our first day we just missed the bus that stops on the corner and had to wait an hour for the next bus or walk 25 minutes to the main road to catch another one. This is all ok if you are prepared before you get there. They do advertise on arrival the bus times- please read them early.

Excellent location with lots of interesting walks close by and a bus stop right outside giving good access to the whole island. Our one bedroom apartment was quite cool and gloomy and the only window that got any sun was the bedroom in the mornings and as it was located next to the carpark there was no space to sit outside. The noise from the carpark and smells from the kitchen extractor could also be quite obtrusive.

Most impressed by the cleanliness of the hotel throughout and our rooms in particular. Also every member of staff was cheerful, helpful and efficient. The food in the restaurant was so good that we virtually changed from Bed and Breakfast to Half Board.

Very friendly, helpful staff. Excellent food, clean rooms. A really excellently organised place, very efficient staff, nothing too much trouble for them. A quiet place to stay, and with Guernsey's good bus service very accessible for touring around. Good walks also on the doorstep. I would certainly recommend this hotel. We had a standard room, ground level. The double bed very comfortable, but an awful polyester quilt was the covering. Being ground level, could hear any one moving in the room above, also the waterworks seemed very noisy, but they have a problem with small pipes apparently, which the water authorities won't resolve.

The staff at La Barbarie were charming and helpful, they made our stay even more enjoyable. Occasionally the food was not up to standard. We were warned that the water pressure was low, and it cetainly was.

Perfect location for cliff walks and a choice of beaches within walking distance. Very helpful and charming staff who knew the area well and were able to offer good advice. The self catering apartment was comfortable and clean and well suited for a family holiday, (only room available when we booked). Good hot water supply and kitchen generally well equipped. Excellent food in the restaurant. Nothing springs to mind!
