Very Friendly. The meals were excellent. Facilities very acceptable
Comfortable room with sofa, tea/coffee facility, fridge and free wifi (& laptop). Attentative staff & excellent restuarant menu! Very close to town centre and amenities. Homely relaxed feel to place.
The is a first class B & B which included an excellent restaurant. The hosts insured every thing was perfect. The rooms were spacious, clean and well appointed. The staff in all areas were well trained and very professional. Ideally located with plenty of parking
Shower was not powerful enough
Excellent service - someone on the door waiting for me when I arrived late - made sure I could park and had everything I needed. Beautiful room - tiniest details thought about. Good breakfast and efficient service
Would have liked to have been able to use wifi on my own devices.
Helpful staff, close to the centre of Shaftesbury. Food excellent.
Everything was perfect, but perhaps a little expensive. An offer of a subsidised dinner if staying more than one night might be good.
Beautiful room, very good layout, good breakfast, lovely people.
delicious dinner for an amazing price
The room was rather small although it had everything we needed except a good shower,
The peace and tranquility was wonderful - no piped music, no unruly kids. So relaxing. The food was fabulous, the only problem was trying to choose what to order - it all sounded so fantastic. The service was excellent, very efficient, friendly and very professional. David,Mary and Marc provide first class service and we look forward to a return visit.
Not a thing!
Cleaners moving into our rooms before we had got out! Despite having asked for them not to!
Lovely food, friendly helpful owners and staff, fabulously comfortable bed, picturesque place, a real treat.
excellent food , friendly service, homely ambience.
not a dislike but a suggestion that the menu be more varied from day to day.
The food and service were exemplary. The owners had clearly thought through their customer service – down to room-specific wi-fi and perfect flowers in the bar area. The bathroom was tiny but carefully thought out. Everything was spotlessly clean. The food was exceptional and beautifully presented, eg, the lamb was cooked exactly as requested – perfectly medium-rare; my breakfast fruit was a work of art; the orange juice really was freshly squeezed. (One odd point – the hotel literature did have the most bizarre use of English.) Treat yourselves! Eat/stay here!
Our room had a skylight with no blind, so in midsummer the sun wakes you up quite early. The car park is, as others have pointed out, a challenge.
Lovely room, great bathroom, nice soft fluffy towels!
Really lovely, it was a short break, wish it could have been longer
Fabulous food; friendly staff; very comfortable and clean room; good selection of guide books
Nothing - it was an excellent hotel
Good location and excellent people
It was a bit more expensive than I would have thought for the location
Very clean and comfortable
Breakfast was ok edible but seemed as if it had been kept warm rather than freshly cooked
The Chardonnay room is worth the small supplement as it is a large, sumptuously decorated room and very comfortable. The staff are very friendly and polite, nothing is too much trouble for them! The public areas and rooms are spotless throughout and the breakfast is yummy!
Fantastic food. Comfortable rooms. Made very welcome. Service great. Will be back when next visiting area.
Narrow drive to carpark . Very tricky but managed it.
Nice people, lovely house. Wonderful French dinner, it's amazing. The room is quite comfortable and clean. I love the place and people.
Food and location
The approach to the car park was a bit hairy.
high standards and attention to detail.
We paid £120 for a one night stay as we expected to eat at the restaurant which is acclaimed. To be told when we arrived that it was closed on a sunday evening and only sandwiches on offer was very disappointing. We have stayed at many hotels and really the room we stayed in was not worth tha price charged. Breakfast was also very poor. Full English was dry and felt as if it had been cooked for a while before being served. In all very disappointing.
