We liked almost everything in this hotel. First of all the General Manager of the hotel Lorenzo was very helpful. Thank you, Lorenzo! The facilities in the room were good. Everything was clean. The building itself was beautiful in English style. And of course the location of the hotel is fantastic. Hampstead is the place where you should stay in London. Definitely I will come back!
There is only one minuse, but I'm sure that Lorenzo will manage it. Breakfasts were not very diverse. And all the rest was fantastic.
No air con; noise from the road
Lorenzo is lovely! He even helped us carry our bags to the taxi. Le Gaffe has a great vibe and atmosphere. We will come back!!!
An excellent family run bed & breakfast.
Stairs to the room very steep
Location in Hampstead Connection to the Center Hospitality
Lovely part of London, but you must go off the main roads. Large choice of local bars, coffee shops, restaurants and cafes. Couple of National Trust sites. Very clean towels and bedding.
Bit of an up hill trek from Hampstead Tube station. The hotel itself is very "tired" internally, requires a refurb.
Charming helpful staff and good location
Pillows bit hard
Friendly staff, good breakfasts, excellent coffee
Not much really.
While all of the staff were excellent to deal with, Lorenzo is the glue who makes it all work. He helped make our stay special and was quick to deal with any concerns or questions. The delightful restaurant downstairs was a wonderful bonus. The location a block from the Heath was perfect, as was the five minute walk from the underground station.
Closets are small and a little awkward, as are bathrooms. Stairs are narrow and windy, but these are things that come with an older repurposed building changed into a boutique hotel. It all adds to the charm.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant served delicious food and the breakfast was also very good. It really is a charming little hotell.
Excellent bathroom with large jacuzzi bath, shower/ steam. Comfortable mattress and good bed linen. Hampstead is a beautiful location, we know it well, heaven on earth.
Dressing table area not too clean very dusty under recess, mirror about to fall off. Curtains and radiator grubby. Laminate floor in bedroom badly worn. Room needed redecoration. Conservatory area down at heel, no plants at all. Staff started stacking chairs on tables as we were still finishing breakfast at 9.40am. We often come to London staying central in 4* had wanted to stay at La Gaffe for a while, a bit disappointed.
Excellent very friendly service. Restaurant food very good! Beautiful bathroom!
Bit pricey - but that's maybe London for you!
Friendly, helpful but not intrusive. Convenient location. Have recommended to friends and will stay on future visits.
The wardrobes in my bedroom were rather difficult to use because of height and position.
No offer of cooked breakfast, room was quiet which but could do with a very good clean & update
The location, staff and restaurant were all fantastic. I have already recommended my friends and family to stay here and will definitely come back.
The tiny shower was a little difficult especially with a little baby so you would probably want to bring a travel tub if you have a little one. Other than that everything was just perfect.
The staff are wonderful. The location is great and the restaurant is excellent
It's an old building - so there's no lift and the stairs are steep - a bit awkward for a few minutes with suitcases
The location is excellent. The staff are friendly and go out of their way to help. The restaurant is very good and well worth visiting
Being an old house, the stairs are narrow and steep - which is not great for carrying suitcases but a small price to pay for such a good hotel
This was the friendliest place I have ever stayed in London, I felt very welcomed. And it is in an excellent location. The room was wonderfully quiet and the bed comfortable.
The friendlyness of staff and also the restaurant
The steep stairways, although there is nothing to be done about them
Excellent position, great accommodation in an attractive building.
Selling a double bed when in actual fact it was a single bed with a very poor mattress; lack of comfort, bathroom size, lack of sound proofing, lack of cleanliness, kitchen smells, and being taken advantage of with the excessive price of room.
We lived in Hampstead until the early 1990's and returned for a weekend staying at La Gaffe. It was the right decision- the staff are charming giving excellent service. We will certainly book again in the near future.
Great London feel. Staff was kind and helpful. Helped with local information and assisted with economical transportation options. Beautiful historic building with lots of character.
Wifi was not the best. Water pressure in shower could have been better. No deal breakers here though.
Very courteous and helpful staff, nice atmosphere in the restauraunt, comfortable room. Location couldn't be better for a stroll around this beautiful and quaint part of London.
While the place has loads of character, the age of the building does show (mainly heating and insulation).
