Hotel La Place  

Service and Dining facilities were excellent and decor first class

Great place, very clean and surrounded by beutiful nature. Getting from the hotel to the city was a bit tricky on foot but possible:-)

The refurbished rooms are very luxurious and the bed was very very comfortable

Quite a long walk and trek back up to the hotel to St Aubins, although the local bus does run nearby

Only that we could not have usual breakfast. Had to leave at 7.30am for flight but got continental in our room

The proximity to the airport was about 5 mins by car although the hotel does offer a free pick-up and drop off service. The location was quiet and in the countryside, ideal for relaxing. The overall ambience of the hotel and rooms were excellent. All of the staff were friendly and nothing was too much for them. The evening meals sampled were of good quality and reasonably priced. The English breakfast was substantial and well-cooked. We will definitely be returning to the hotel next year for a long weekend.

Most of the hotel has recently been renovated to a very high standard. The superior and deluxe bedrooms were outstanding. Everything was brand new and very comfortable and luxurious. The staff were pleasant and extremely helpful. The hotel transfer to and from the airport was free and we travelled in a Mercedes. We felt very pampered with the hotel service throughout our stay. The reception, sitting rooms and bedrooms were so tastefully decorated and very stylish. All the rooms were extremely clean and well maintained. It is one of the best hotels we have every stayed in.

Food quality for evening meal was below par. 1980 style portions with no finesse . Too many over cooked vegetables, my wife' duck was overcooked. My pork medallions were swamped in cream sauce and had no real flavour

Beautiful hotel,beautiful place. Rooms were stunning and staff were so welcoming and attentive. Felt very personnel and we absolutely loved it.

A quiet location suitable for the mature holidaymaker. Friendly, helpful staff. Well cooked breakfasts. Good size rooms/bathrooms.

A shortage of parking for hotel guests. Food service, particularly in the bar, could be quite slow. The lounge has suffered from the 'Designer' effect- poor lighting for reading, and deep soft chairs not suitable for the mature.

It was a very comfortable and well run hotel and the food was very good. The staff were also very nice and helpfull.

After booking the rooms the hotel staff rang back promptly to admit they had made a mistake and had double booked one of the rooms, but they offered to upgrade us for 2 nights for the same price. The upgraded room was recently renovated at the front of the hotel and was excellent, but the room we had for the last night was at the back and was quite dated and in need of refurbishment. The hotel was very quiet, in the country between the airport and St Brelade, away from the busy beach front.

The breakfast was included in the price but was served from 7:30 to 9:30, which meant it was a rush for us to get there before it closed. A 9:30am finish for breakfast is too early when you are on holiday.

Staff we're excellent and nothing was too much trouble for them, they pro actively sought to help, rooms were excellent, food was great, pool area was good also

Hotel was excellent all round

Beautifully appointed hotel, we even had a chandelier in the bathroom. Luxurious fittings. Could not be faulted.

The only problem we had was that the reception was not manned, and we had to go and search for a member of staff whenever we needed anything. We felt that in a 5 star hotel, this should not be the case. On a couple of occasions, no member of staff could be found, and we had to leave our query and hope that someone would be available later in the day. On the reception desk, there was a notice to say that there would be someone available in the bar downstairs, but on several occasions when we went downstairs there wasn't anyone there either.

The renovated bedrooms are absolutely fantastic - very spacious - beautifully designed & furnished, with amazing bathrooms!! The same can be said of the public rooms. Cannot comment on the non-renovated rooms. The heated pool was a real treat! Loved the poolside area & the courtyard too. The Staff deserve special mention - very friendly & attentive. We chose the location specifically as it is very quiet (away from civilization!). There are bus stops outside the hotel, but you really do need a car to see the island. Airport transfer to the hotel was very convenient.

This hotel is a little gem and punches above its weight in many areas. The elegantly designed room we had was absolutely fabulous and the finish impeccable. This is a very well managed establlishment and the staff are a great credit to the hotel, without exception they were polite, professional and friendly and happy to engage in conversation and were super helpful., Nothing was too much trouble at all. I would thoroughly recommend La Place to all and would not hesitate to book again Fantastic
